I was expecting this, the acquittal was a foregone conclusion. The GOP would never do this to their own. If they had, Trump would've gone off and created his own political party, and the GOP certainly don't want to lose any members to it.
Even with Trump gone, Democrats won't want to let him go. They know the media like screeching about him.
God knows what they'll do now.
So what would the penalty have been for trying to overthrow the US government?
