Unfortunately, Mexico hasn't been safe for migrants according to a 2017 report:
"Migrants and refugees who settle in Mexico face significant barriers, including “acute risks of kidnapping, disappearance, sexual assault, trafficking, and other grave harms” according to a 2017 report by the nonprofit Human Rights First."
A real American president would work with the governments of Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala to lower crime in order for people to feel safe to stay. Something is seriously wrong when business owners are fleeing their own country.
The criminal in the White House is too busy obstructing justice, cozying up with foreign tyrants who murder American residents and exploiting migrants by inciting hatred and fear in order to appeal to his uneducated political base instead of addressing the situation effectively.
I seriously doubt that it's people who own businesses that are "fleeing oppression".
Also, if they are "so oppressed", why are they waving the flag of the country they are "fleeing" from? Oh yeah. They love where they came from and are loyal to that country, not the country they plan to march into and make demands here.
If they can organize like this to force their way into another country, why can't they organize and make demands in the country they love?
Crappy jobs with no or few benefits. Most don't have college degrees therefore their jobs are likely low-paying. They were the ones who cried the loudest when their Obamacare was going to be taken away. They cheered the loudest when nationalist Trump promised them high-paying factory jobs. They're the ones who are too stupid to gain the skills and education which is needed to find good jobs. Instead they prefer to scapegoat immigrants for their own miserable lives.
The business owners are being threatened by violent gangs the same way families are. The $210 million tax dollars that nationalist Trump wasted on the military doing nothing at the border for weeks could have been better served elsewhere.
I haven't seen anyone marching with flags, but I do see Trump supporters waving that unAmerican Confederate flag. A bunch of descendants of racists insurgents who attacked and tried to destroy the United States of America. Perhaps they should leave since they hate this country so much and what it represents.
So, what types of jobs do they think the invaders plan to get in the US? Oh, that's right. They will just demand the hand-outs here. Paid for by US citizens, including those working "crappy" jobs. In some cases, working multiple jobs. Or do you think they are all highly educated doctors, lawyers, etc?
You just proved my point that Trump supporters have miserable lives with crappy jobs - if they're even employed - and they are scapegoating a few migrants for their own pathetic lives because they are too lazy or dumb to learn a job skill.
The U.S. allows over 1 million immigrants to enter each year, but you're obsessing over 5k at the border which is actually a very small number. Continue to drink the Kool-Aid that nationalist Trump gives you so that he can continue to manipulate you. I doubt if he has improved your life. Continue to be easily distracted by migrants instead of by what he's not doing for you.
My area is one of the main places in the country where immigrants settle and you don't find me whining. Many immigrants become entrepreneurs opening up restaurants and stores, driving cabs, making deliveries, becoming doctors (you're wrong), nurses, attorneys, nannies, government workers and teachers.
Who says that because a person works for a living, they are "miserable"? I also know many Trump supporters in professional jobs. But they paid their own way through school. They didn't get hand-outs. You must be thinking of the Hilary supporters. The ones fully expecting the hand-outs, and whining because they made a decision to take out college loans and now they don't want to pay them back. Let's not forget all the melt-downs when Trump won, and people were in the fetal position and colleges had to cancel classes/exams because the cry-babies couldn't handle losing.
You're right - some of the immigrants do get to earn degrees - on the backs of US citizens who get no hand-outs.
"Who says that because a person works for a living, they are "miserable"?"
No one. You can't read.
Statistically, most Trump supporters don't hold college degrees and he's increasingly becoming less popular.
A prediction. The economy will likely crash within the next two years. Let's see how popular Nationalist Trump is when his base realizes they have been conned, won't be getting those high-paying factory jobs and lucky to keep whatever crappy jobs they hold.
You sound like you hate people with college degrees. I guess you prefer stupid doctors, scientists and teachers.
In your world, house mortgages, car loans and credit cards must be "hand-outs" too.
Actually, Clinton won the election with 3 million more votes than Nationalist Trump. Those "crying" Clinton supporters ran for office and beat out incumbent Republicans. Nationalist Trump will be facing them in 2019. ROFLMAO!
Direct quote from your own post "You just proved my point that Trump supporters have miserable lives with crappy jobs".
You don't know what you write? Also, where do you get that most Trump supporters have no degrees? Or even that Trump supporters have "crappy jobs"? You won't like it, but I know many Hilary supporters who don't even work, unless you count working the system as "working". One woman I used to work with (supporter of your boy, Obama) thought that due to decisions she made, she should be given government hand-outs. It's only the Hilary supporters I know who think they should not have to provide or pay for breakfast and lunch for their children. They feel their children should get both free at school.
Car loans, mortgages, etc are loans and people understand they have to be paid. Unlike the cry-babies who are now crying they don't want to pay back their college loans.
I don't have anything against all college students. Just the snowflakes who needed counseling (LMAO) after the election, and classes had to be cancelled because they couldn't deal with not getting what they want. And the ones who (as I said above) think they should not have to pay back the loans they chose to take. When Obama won (both times) everyone I know who did not like him just went on with their lives normally. None were in the fetal position, crying, etc.
I also have family who served in wars of the past, serve in the military now as well as friends whose family serve now. But, just for the record, are you saying that if a person did not serve in the military, they should never be president? Why do you never mention that Bill Clinton also dodged the draft?
Nothing wrong with not having one, but at least have critical thinking skills which most Trump supporters appear to lack.
Trump supporters appear very angry and miserable. They almost rioted when their Obamacare was threatened and cried when Hillary told them to get retraining for good paying jobs of the future. Coal & good-paying manufacturing jobs are DOA.
Clinton was a conscientious objector. Trump was a draft dodger. If Trump said he was morally against the Vietnam War than I would have no problem. Instead he became Mr. Heel Spurs.
BTW, how proud are you of that S.O.B. Mr. Heel Spurs not respecting our military veterans by refusing to go to the U.S. Tomb in France AND to Arlington Cemetery on Veterans Day?
**My direct quote,
"You just proved my point that Trump supporters have miserable lives with crappy jobs".
Your pathetic attempt to twist my words is laughable.**
How did that twist your words when I copied and pasted exactly what you wrote?
Then you say it again **Trump supporters appear very angry and miserable. **
Oh, I see. It's "ok" to avoid the draft because you "object" to the war, even if others still had to go.
Anyway, I am done. It's easy to see where we both stand. I believe in legal immigration, and following the law, you support illegal immigration and people breaking the law. (I guess you have no problem with it when the people here legally also drive without licenses, no registration and no insurance too.)
That's why most chose not to stay in Mexico. They don't want jobs, they want free hand-outs.
Then there are the major American companies who want to move their manufacturing jobs to Mexico (and escape all kinds of economic hardship in the USA), which T-rump wanted to keep here. So he handed out major tax cuts, tax incentives, etc. making the blue collar workers suffer. In other words, he enticed them to stay by handing out "corporate welfare" - and none of his supporters seem to mind.

You're confused. You forgot that the United States is a democracy with laws instead of a totalitarian state with a dictator. Trump is breaking multiple international as well as federal laws in regard to asylum.
Actually requesting asylum it is a right. Invasion? I bet Americans thought the same about your ancestors. Which country did your ancestors invade from?
My ancestors did not invade. They came to the country legally, followed the laws and went through the process to become US citizens. They put away the flags of the countries they came from and flew the US flag. They understood they had to make some adjustments to the US culture, they did not expect those born here to adjust to them. They also learned English, they did not expect/demand to be catered to in their language.
So your ancestors didn't even know English. They sound like the swarthy type that most WASPs hate and wanted to keep out.
Nevertheless, you're not indigenous so your ancestors were part of a foreign invasion that swarmed the continent, stole the land and committed genocide against the original inhabitants. Those "legal" laws were written by your fellow invaders and murderers therefore they're irrelevant.
People in glass houses shouldn't throw bricks and it appears you reside in a glass house.
BTW, most of those migrants you're complaining about are either indigenous or have a large percentage of indigenous ancestry. They have more of a right to be in America than you do.
Apparently you have trouble understanding what you read. I said they learned English, so eventually they knew and spoke English. Unlike the many times I have seen illegal immigrants, living in the country 5, 10 or more years, "speaking through an interpreter" because they never learned. (In fact, it seems like only people from certain countries never learn. There are still many immigrants who come here legally and do learn English.)
Also, my ancestors came in the early 1900's and didn't "murder" anyone or take part in any "genocide". Nice try though.
Before you say it, they never took any hand-outs and never expected any. They worked for what they needed and wanted.
I reiterate because you are the one who is having a problem understanding. There was mass discrimination against immigrants in the early 1900s because they weren't wanted here.
Trump's father was in the KKK and was at a rally against Irish Catholics in the 1920s when he and three other men were arrested for rioting. Italians, Irish, Swedes, Germans, Asians, Hispanics, Greeks etc were all persecuted and discriminated when they came to the U.S. in large numbers as immigrants.
But the U.S. is a nation of immigrants and makes this country strong. That is an American value and if your family had taught you properly then you would know that. Nationalist Trump has no American values or morality. He sides with foreign dictators like Putin and bin Salman who have attacked an American resident and our electric grid, is a 4x draft dodger who has insulted Gold Star families and war heroes, who has denounced the American Constitution by speaking out against freedom of the press, speech, expression and religion as well as trying to divide the American people.
You and your family are still benefiting from the land theft, genocide and continued persecution of Native Americans by being here.
I doubt if all your food and store bought items are completely American therefore you're part of the exploitation of the very people you condemn for being poor because you don't want to pay a fair price. You'll whine when they come here looking for a better life like your ancestors did. What hypocrisy!
Actually, my family did teach me properly. Are you having trouble understanding that my ancestors came here legally, adjusted to the culture, learned the language and made no demands? Or just choosing to ignore it because it's not convenient for you? That's what my family taught me. They also taught me that if I chose to move to another country, I would have to make adjustments there, not to expect the people to change to suit me.
They called themselves "Americans" and their children were "Americans". Unlike today's immigrants who tell their children (even if born here) that they are "not Americans, they are (insert country parents came from)"
Yes, they did face discrimination at the time. But they still did what they could to adjust to the country they chose to come to, and understood that the people of the country owed them nothing. They never demanded that someone remove the US flag because it "offended them". They stood for the national anthem, said the Pledge of Allegiance and taught their children to do the same. And that's the way it's been through the generations. (Yes, I know that now liberals are telling their children not to do that.)
I don't get the impression you personally know any immigrants since you're stereotyping them.
"Actually, my family did teach me properly. "
That's debatable since you're stereotyping and showing disdain for fellow Americans. You're also making many bigoted comments against immmigration which means you don't hold true American values.
"...made no demands?..."
It sounds like your ancestors were white Europeans since naturalization was limited to only white immigrants according to the The Naturalization Act of 1906. They wouldn't need to make demands since their skin color gave them many privileges. Change a last name, forget a language and their children could pass for WASPs and not face the same prejudices as their immigrant parents.
"They also taught me that if I chose to move to another country, I would have to make adjustments there, not to expect the people to change to suit me. "
As long as its European, you mean. If your staement was true, then you would be speaking a true American language like Cherokee or Navaho. As for European languages, Spaniards were in Virginia, Florida, California, Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, etc. long before the British so you should probably be speaking Spanish if you were to choose a European language.
"...US flag because it "offended them". ..."
The Confederate flag is anti-American. Racists wanted to destroy the country which is why they referred to themselves as The Confederate States of America instead of the United States of America. No true American would be waving that it.
The Nazi flag is also waved by Trump supporters. Nazis killed American soldiers and wanted to destroy our country. Unlike 4x draft dodger nationalist Trump, I have many family members who fought in WWII against Nazis. No American patriot would be waving a Confederate or Nazi flag.
"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
Perhaps your immigrant ancestors saw those words on the Statue of Liberty on their way to Ellis Island. Show respect for its values by welcoming today's immigrants as America welcomed your family.
How is saying that if a person wants to come to this country, they should do so legally "bigoted"? Please explain that.
Also, explain how feeling that "equal treatment" should mean *equal treatment* in every way, not just when convenient, "bigoted"?
No, they didn't make demands because they knew they had to learn the language of the country they chose to move to. They also did not demand housing, welfare, etc. They understood they had to work for what they want.
No, I know that whatever country I choose to move to, I have to adjust. If I chose to move to a country where women are required to cover themselves, I don't expect to run around in shorts and a halter top and demand their laws change to suit me. Understand?
Please tell me where I said "Confederate" flag or "Nazi" flag. You even quoted me saying "US" flag. Do you understand the difference between them? And don't say "it doesn't happen" because I worked at a place where I was told I could not have a small table-sized US (understand? US, not Confederate) flag on my desk because it "bothered" an immigrant who hated the US and all it stands for. I dare you to go to another country, and demand someone remove their flag.
Are you here illegally? Is that why you hate the idea of people being required to come here legally so much?
And I actually work with LEGAL immigrants, who told me what they went through to be here legally and become citizens. Guess what? They feel the same. If you want to be here, do it the LEGAL way.
Most bigots aren't aware that they are making bigoted comments with
stereotypes, overgeneralization, prejudice, hatred, intolerance:
"They stood for the national anthem...now liberals are telling their children not to do that."
Stereotype and hostility based on political party.
"Unlike today's immigrants who tell their children (even if born here) that they are "not Americans, they are (insert country parents came from)""
Hostility towards recent immigrants. You assume they're not as good as older immigrants.
Your reply to this comment was interesting. "The invasion will be stopped."
Your reply: My ancestors did not invade.
Are you agreeing with the comment that today's immigrants are invading?
You take one personal incident (flag) and apply it to an entire group. Pure overgeneralization.
I really hope that you don't work with immigrants considering your bigotry against recent immigrants.
Can you read? I have said that I do work with legal immigrants, who feel as I do. Come here legally and go through the same process as other legal immigrants go through.
This is a good one from you: **"Unlike today's immigrants who tell their children (even if born here) that they are "not Americans, they are (insert country parents came from)""
Hostility towards recent immigrants. You assume they're not as good as older immigrants.**
How is it "hostile" to repeat what a person said? I guess it's also wrong to say that if they feel loyal to the country they came from, why don't they stay there? And I guess it's not hostile to tell children born in this country they are "not Americans".
And it is more than one incident. That was my personal experience. There have been many cases where US citizens have been told not to fly/display the US (read slowly, I said *US*m NOT Confederate and NOT Nazi) flag because it "offended" someone (or people) who CHOSE to come here from another country.
As for the part about telling their children not to stand for the anthem or pledge - I certainly do not know any conservatives doing that.
It's funny how you can bring up "Trump supporters" but don't like it when your political party is brought up.
And I love how you take out of contest with:
**Your reply to this comment was interesting. "The invasion will be stopped."
Your reply: My ancestors did not invade. **
Especially since that was not the comment I replied to.
"US citizens have been told not to fly/display the US"
Link?
"they are (insert country parents came from)"".
There is a difference between ethnicity and nationality. You want people to only acknowledge a nationality and never their ethnicity. That includes never making contributions from their ethnic culture to American culture including language, cuisine, music, holidays:
Since you don't appreciate ethnicity, you're forbidden to participate in their contributions to American culture.
From today forward, you aren't allowed to eat pizza, gelato, ice cream cones, spaghetti, hot dogs on a bun, Chinese food, tacos, sauerkraut, croissants, popcorn, donuts, bagels, humuus, candied yams, french fries, Indian food, sushi, gyros, have Christmas trees, listen to most American music (ex. rock, rap, soul, jazz), play a banjo, do yoga or meditation, no Mardi Gras, no New Orleans, no visits to Little Italy, Little China, or any Littles, soccer, learn martial arts, etc. never say OK, tote, delicatessen, kindergarten, glitch, patio, plaza, entrepreneur, typhoon, moped, cafe, barbecue, canoe, kayak, No Saint Patrick's Day or Columbus Day.
I was going to allow you to eat a single white potato, but that is hyphen Native American spread to the U.S. by hyphen Spaniards. Ditto chocolate. And tobacco.
Your nonhyphen world suxs.
Most veterans fought in order to give Americans the freedom to stand or not. You may want to reread the Constitution.
"It's funny how you can bring up "Trump supporters" but don't like it when your political party is brought up."
I was disagreeing with your ALL liberals overgeneralization stereotype.
Do you believe there is equal liberty and justice for all in the U.S.?
"Especially since that was not the comment I replied to"
I'm aware of that. Your reading comprehension is bad. I wrote "your REPLY to this comment". You appeared to be agreeing with it by how you replied.
Ok, since you don't understand, I will explain. In the case of a current co-worker, children cannot say they are "Americans with Colombian heritage". She told me herself they are not to stand for the anthem or Pledge of Allegiance, their loyalty "belongs to Colombia".
Yes, there is equal liberty. Everyone is free to make their own choices. Equal justice? No, because not everyone has the ACLU to go crying to when things don't go our way. People want "equality" when it suits them, but they also want special privileges when it suits them.
"There have been many cases where US citizens have been told not to fly/display the US... flag because it "offended" someone (or people) who CHOSE to come here from another country."
I still want that link from your source.
"children cannot say they are "Americans with Colombian heritage". She told me herself they are not to stand for the anthem or Pledge of Allegiance, their loyalty "belongs to Colombia". "
You should be happy if people aren't allowed to mention their ethnicity since you're against that anyway.
So a mysterious person(s) or institution told them they can't stand for the Pledge of Allegiance? That sounds odd. Link please.
"Equal justice? No..."
If there isn't justice for all then you lie every time you say the Pledge of Allegiance. That is why some people refuse to say it. The irony is, that you can't deny their right not to say it or you are denying them their liberty of expression and liberty to protest under the Constitution.
Are these naturalized citizens? If so, your allegations are kind of weird seeing as how a citizen of another country naturalized as a U.S. citizen may retain their previous citizenship but must renounce allegiance to the other country.
As for the part about telling their children not to stand for the anthem or pledge - I certainly do not know any conservatives doing that.
There are plenty of conservative-leaning Jehova Witnesses who don't stand for the anthem or pledge - I work with quite a few.
The only one not following laws is Nationalist Trump who is illegally denying people their right to ask for asylum which is perfectly legal under both international and federal law. The U.S. can deny asylum after due process, but it's illegal to bar asylum seekers at a legal port of entry which Trump is doing.
Why aren't you critical of Nationalist Trump for breaking yet another law?
To request "asylum" (offered in Mexico) they need to come in legally, not storm across the border.
Here's another point: In Mexico, they already know the language and will not have to deal with "bigots" telling them to learn English, just because immigrants from European countries do. Again, treating them equally would be "bigoted", right?
Trump is deliberately slowing down the asylum process by having people stay on the bridge for weeks. Perfectly illegal behavior. I notice you don't protest his illegal behavior.
Are you upset that Melania taught her son Slovenian? Her English isn't very good so she lacks practice. Do you believe it would better serve her to speak only English with Baron to help improve her English and make him a better citizen?
Do Melania's parents who were naturalized speak English or did they receive a language waiver based on age? They speak Slovenian with Baron, so do they hate America? Why were they allowed to be naturalized when Trump is against chained migration? Is he a hypocrite?
"In Mexico, they already know the language..."
You assume that they all speak Spanish. Wrong! There are migrants who only speak Q'anjob'al, K’iche’ Quechwa or other indigenous languages. Like I said, they're the true Americans.
It sounds like you'll welcome the small number of migrants from English-speaking Cameroon who are part of the caravan.
I love how you twist things. Did I SAY they I object to people knowing more than one language? Nope. I said a person should learn the language of the country they choose to move to, not expect others to cater to them in their language.
Funny remark about Melania. When have you seen her being interviewed in English, but "speaking through an interpreter"? Did her parents come here illegally?
When do you call a business and hear "Press 3 for German, Press 4 for Slovenian, Press 5 for Czech, Press 6 for Polish" and on and on and on? Nope, only one language gets special treatment. Others have to learn.
Is this really coming from the same sock who claimed Obama took us into a recession and destroyed the economy? Here's a reminder of your single digit IQ and you getting schooled in case you forgot:
Fuck off commie scum. My family came here legally to be functioning members of society....feeding their communities with their farms.
The invaders were offered asylum in Mexico...not taking that offer invalidates their asylum seeker status. When you are allegedly "fleeing" terrible things, you don't get to pick and chose where you flee to.
Uncontrolled immigration hurts minorities and legal immigrants...why do you hate them?
"Uncontrolled immigration hurts minorities and legal immigrants."
The caravans are not a demonstration of uncontrolled immigration. You hate them because you hate all immigration, and you hate all immigration because you believe it interferes with your white utopia. You aren't fooling anyone with your bullshit.
