LOL!!!! These repugs are SICK!!! No moral compass whatsoever!!! The only reason they trying to get Kavanaugh in there is to save their own hides! Disgusting!!
shareThe irony just kills me: Tronald Dump and his cronies were trying to use Kavanaugh as their salvation. In pursuit and defense of their "salvation", they are actually systematically damning themselves as Kavanaugh is becoming embroiled in corruption and scandal (like every other republican official all the way up to the so-called president).
If they confirm this guy they will seal their negative fate. If they don't confirm this guy they're damned anyway.
I've disliked the past few presidents but none of them were embroiled in scandal of this magnitude--not even Bill with his Monica affair. NO ONE was as embroiled in scandal as Tronald Dump and his administration.
This may go down as the most corrupt and scandlous presidency in our country's history, easily rivaling Nixon's.
I agree with you, except for the part about "...this (administration) may go down as the most corrupt and scandalous presidency in our country's history." Just substitute "will" for "may" and I can agree 100%.
shareSexual misconduct isn't a crime. These women shouldn't be allowed to testify or have legal representation. They should have FBI surveillance so we can catch who their handlers are that are colluding.
shareKavanaugh was 17 at the time. No one is the same person at 53 that they were at 17. I wasn't even the same person at 20 that I was at 17. And by the time I was 30, there was nothing left of that 17-year old. Yes, what 17-year old Kavanaugh did was bad, but that person simply doesn't exist anymore. Men's brains don't even fully mature until their mid- to late 20s. If 17-year old Kavanaugh had not done these things but instead hospitalised another teenager in a fit of rage, or crippled someone in a drunk driving accident, both scenarios being far worse than the accusations he is now facing, no one would raise those issues now after all these years

What planet do you live on? If he had engaged in either of those scenarios, so long as he acknowledged them, expressed contrition, and resolved them at the time it wouldn't be as big of a deal. If he had done either of those things, refused to acknowledge them, and never suffered any consequences then you're completely out to lunch if you think those issues wouldn't be raised now.
The reason why this is a big deal is that Kavanaugh is denying this ever happened.
Then it's up to the 53 year old to fess up to it and take responsibility for his actions. Instead, he's acting like a 17 year old by constantly hiding from it and pretending it never happened.
shareLike I said, the person who may have committed those acts doesn't exist anymore. So if 17 year old Kavanaugh did do those things (and I've seen far worse at parties myself), and if he even remembers them (and that's a big 'if', considering his extremely inebriated state, by all accounts), I still don't think it's anything to rock the boat over. I'm sorry, but you've missed your chance to correct him. There is a statute of limitations for this sort of thing in the state of Washington. But what of it? Kavanaugh turned out fine anyway, without correction, and correction now would be utterly meaningless. Punishment just for the sake of punishment is counter-productive.
And I do allow for the possibility that these women were particularly fragile and had their whole lives ruined because of their experiences (though it would appear not), but I can't shake the feeling that if they had happened to be in the same place as Kavanaugh or Trump on the political spectrum, they wouldn't have been bothered by this nomination. These look like crocodile tears to me.
Wow. You have such little respect or honor for the Supreme Court or those who sit on it by posting such nonsense.
Sorry, America deserves a Supreme Court Judge better than a guy who may have committed sexual assault against four female classmates decades ago.
"Wow. You have such little respect or honor for the Supreme Court or those who sit on it by posting such nonsense. "
You don't get to say that to me. I get to say that to you, because you think your emotions are more important than the actual law. And the law says that whatever sexual impropriety he did nearly 40 years ago is now null and void, because of the statutes of limitations in the state of Washington. And like I said, Kavanaugh turned out fine without correction, so he has obviously matured. The only argument you seem to have is an appeal to emotions, and I can think of nothing less useful.
"Sorry, America deserves a Supreme Court Judge better than a guy who may have committed sexual assault against four female classmates decades ago."
Any candidate MAY have committed sexual assault against any number of female (or male) classmates any number of years ago. And of all the accusations made public, only one was potentially serious (the one made by Christine Ford). The other one that I know of (a dick in your face) was really only par for the course at frat parties back in those days. Maybe these parties have mellowed since then, I don't know. But Ramirez's accusation didn't impress me. I am not familiar with allegations other than those two.
Brett Kavanaugh and his childhood friend Mark Judge and others would participate in the "targeting of women with alcohol/drugs to allow a ‘train’ of men to subsequently gang rape them." according to the latest allegations involving "multiple witnesses" and a 3rd victim represented by Michael Avenatti who has contacted the Senate Majority leader and promised to release the information to them in coming days.
So far, Mark Judge's ex-gf in college has come forward to confirm that Judge did admit to her having participated in these types of activities.
Process that.
So are you willing to overlook gang rapes because a teenage Kavanaugh is not the same person as 53 year old Kavanaugh? Your logic is terrible.
I have every right to say that to you. You should wake up and demand what’s best for the country, and not just what’s best for todays Rethuglikkkan party. You would be a much productive American Patriot if you didn’t sit there and watch things happen to our country just because they can.
