Its not a Muslim ban. It only accounts for 8% of the worlds Muslim population. I swear, you guys would deny the sky is blue is Trump had anything to do with it.
shareThis evolved from Trump openly saying during the campaign that there should be no more Muslims entering the US until they figure out what was going on. When he learned he couldn't ban a specific religion he had his people play around until they could get something that would technically be legal.
He also said that this would be a temporary measure while they developed "extreme vetting" although he offered zero specifics as to what this would entail over current vetting procedures. In any case he's been in office for close to a year and a half and from what I can tell he's made no progress in developing his extreme vetting measures.
