Trump scares Honduras migrant caravan into halting in Mexico / China adds tariffs to US goods

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/the_americas/the-caravan-of-migrants-thats-alarmed-president-trump-has-now-stalled/2018/04/03/534b01c2-36aa-11e8-af3c-2123715f78df_story.html?utm_term=.0f654941bc01

Watch the vid. Now they're saying they built America... lol. Thought it was the blacks? I like how quiet the Asians are since they built the railroads. Well, jobs are an all time now after Obama so it better stay that way if not lower. No complaining about the jobs offered else they'll have the excuse to do the jobs you don't want to do.

'Trump’s comments have turned what had been an annual march of U.S.-bound migrants — an event aimed at highlighting the suffering of Central Americans fleeing home — into something of a political crisis for Mexico.'

Wow... so they've been doing this yearly... I wonder for how far back they've been illegally coming over.

'China has increased tariffs by up to 25 per cent on 128 U.S. products, from frozen pork and wine to certain fruits and nuts, escalating a spat between the world’s biggest economies in response to U.S. duties on imports of aluminum and steel.'

Have fun paying for higher prices on goods just to get those high paying jobs to the select few that get hired for those factories being rebuilt. If we factor in the increased goods prices and the miniscule tax cut rebates (unless you're rich then it shouldn't matter), poor are getting shafted hard and middle class getting somewhat hit a bit.

FOX Viewers must be relieved! They woke up to a scare on Monday morning - Hondurans being driven right into their driveway? Geesh!

reply

"Geesh"... If a Honduran wants to sit in MY driveway, he's got some big problems! LOL NO jobs in this town!

But a group of people walking their way into the US of A, what a helluva nerve!! You are okay with that? The laws of our country mean nothing to you?

And since they were passing through Mexico, why didn't they stay THERE? According to the left, it's not a "sh#thole" country. So it must be a virtual paradise. Oops I forgot, Mexico has some very strict immigration laws. Foreigners can't just plop down and say "We're here and we're staying".
They get their a$$es kicked out according to Mexican law.

But hey, they have every "right" to invade the USA. If I were President I would put the military with machine guns on our border. You get a few warning shots over your heads. If you don't turn back, well then, we all know what happens to invaders!!!

reply

No jobs in your town? Don’t worry... T-rumps going to fix that with his millions of high paying jobs he promised to create. Not any old job - high paying jobs! That’s one reason why you voted for him. He’s the self proclaimed job creator. It’s on his “to do list” , along with repealing and replacing Obama care and having Mexico build a border wall.

We’re waiting while Russia is winning.

Trump is an utter moron...

reply

Oops sorry doggie, but I DID misspeak. I was shopping today and several stores have help wanted signs in their windows. There are SOME jobs, just not great paying jobs! I mean, I would never move here to try and find employment if I didn't already live here already.

A friend of mine just dropped off a job application for me from the place where she works. She knows I am looking for work and she will give me a recommendation. It[s not high paying, but it will do for now.

But gee, don't play "psychic" and tell me why I voted for Trump! HA! One of my top reasons and I hate to bring it up because you will tell me I am mentioning "her" again, is that it was a vote to keep a certain blonde pantsuited crook OUT of the White House.

Yes we do need jobs in this area. But I am not sitting on my hands waiting for ANY President to bring in jobs. It's not in the Constitution anyway. The role of the Federal government is not to "create jobs", it's just to stay the hell out of the way of the private sector. No doubt some people believed candidate Trump's speeches about jobs. I never did. I am hugely cynical of any government "help", just like my late father was. He hated all politicians equally. I just happen to hate Hillary more! lol

"The role of the Federal government is not to "create jobs", it's just to stay the hell out of the way of the private sector."

Yes, but T-rump campaigned on the self-identity of being a 'great job creator' and he would create millions of high-paying jobs once he got into Office. His promised words, not mine. His connection to voters. His failure, among many, to deliver.

"But gee, don't play "psychic" and tell me why I voted for Trump!"

My apology - but that was part of his 'package deal' (repeal and replace Obamacare, have Mexico pay for a border wall they will build for us, and creating millions of high-paying jobs) he promised all voters (including you).

reply

Okay, apology accepted! I just don't take very many politicians at their word. They all "promise" a zillion things to get elected.

It has been my experience that the ones who promise the most "stuff" usually get elected. It's the fault of the voters for allowing politicians to get away with empty promises.

I remember a quote, I had to look up who said it though. It was a Scottish historian, Alexander Tytler, who first said (I think he was first), "A democracy can only exist until a majority of voters discover that they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury."

That's what we have had for years. People vote for whoever promises the most stuff. I have financial problems. But I don't blame them on Trump. I didn't even blame them on Obama either, believe it or not.

I just wish the federal government would stick to what it's supposed to do; coin the money, make treaties, keep up the military and defend the citizenry.

The one thing I DID hope Trump would do was build that wall! I've seen pictures in our local newspaper of sections of it which are being built. I live far from the border, but I'd be mad as heck and really scared if I lived on the Texas, Arizona, New Mexico border. Those people have their land, farms, ranches overrun, cattle stolen, drug dealers creating havoc, violence, death.

Now THAT is something I expect the Feds to fix! If Trump doesn't make good on that promise I will be even madder than you are at him!

Lets just allow the “world citizens” to vote demokkkrat in our elections and save the time of having all these people come here. That’s what it’s all about for our noble saviors on the left. Acquisition of political power. Damned the people. Damned the country.

"Lets just allow the “world citizens” to vote demokkkrat in our elections and save the time of having all these people come here."

Will you Russians share your secret on how to do that? You pulled off quite a win for T-rump and the Rethuglikkkans in 2016. Can you show the world citizens how to do it in 2020?

reply

Did you read in the article how one potential illegal alien claims Trump wants to "hit them with nuclear bombs"? Those mojados are just as alarmist as American Liberals!

reply

Well he did say nuclear option which probably confused their Honduran brains into thinking nuclear bombs.

106 more US products with tariffs including soy, cars and chemicals
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/04/04/china-new-us-tariffs-including-soy-cars-and-chemicals.html

• The effective start date for the new charges is not announced, though China's Ministry of Commerce says the tariffs are designed to target up to $50 billion of U.S. products annually.
• The 25 percent levy on U.S. imports includes products such as soybeans, cars and whiskey.
• The move comes less than 24 hours after President Trump unveiled a list of Chinese imports that his administration aims to target as part of a crackdown on what he deems as unfair trade practices.

WINNNG!!! #MAGA

What I don't get is why China is retaliating against our retaliation of their unfair tariffs to begin with. The Yuan dropped though as well but they've been currency manipulating it for awhile so I wonder if they'll just bring it back up now that it's fallen even more than its proposed set value.
