I think he'll be re-elected U.S. president because there doesn't seem to be any outstanding candidates in the Democratic party to challenge him (well so far, at least).

Hell no, he won't be elected. He'll be out of office before the end of the term. Plus, look at all the people on his staff who have left. His support is only about 35% in the polls, the lowest of any president ever.

Not everyone. It was obvious to me that he could win because there's a percentage of Trump supporters who are lead more by their emotions than intellect which he exploited. Even Trump said he likes stupid people when talking about his own supporters. Not enough Trump supporters studied his policies against history, macroeconomics, geopolitics and the effect on their own lives in realistic terms. I know someone who voted for him for his anti-abortion stance, but will now suffer because her taxes, medical insurance and cost of living will go up which she can't afford.

Not happening before the 2018 mid-term elections, then he's screwed. The party NOT in power usually gains in mid-term elections. That Democratic gain plus remaining Republican politicians who hate him because of the way he treated them and his policies that hurt his supporters will come back to haunt him. Also, don't forget there are Puerto Ricans moving to swing states like Florida who aren't happy about Trump's treatment re: Hurricane Maria. He's made enemies of too many people.

Your economic books are more hypocrisy. The Republican Party takes money aka bribes from companies to shutdown competition. That's anti-capitalist. Then when they have their monopoly, the company overcharges the American consumer.
There was a Democratic plan to have each consumer own their own cable box instead of a cable company owning it. You would then be able to choose from multiple cable companies which would create competition and lower prices for consumers. Instead, the Republicans are destroying Net Neutrality which will create less competition, censorship, and higher prices.
Same with prescription drugs. Why did the Republicans make it illegal for government to negotiate lower prices re: medicare? How much money did your Republican rep. take from the drug companies to screw over the American consumer? Democrats fought this.
Trump's supporters believed his nonsense when he promised to get rid of the swamp and lobbyists. Instead, he and the Republicans are giving large corporations and the super rich a big tax cut because they threatened to withhold their bribes in future elections.

If Trump is re-elected, I will take it as a given that our elections,
news, economy and everything is all fake.
I didn't think Americans are so stupid this last election. I don't
know what is going on, but whatever it is, it is killing our country
and it needs to change.
We know given the choice most people wanted Bernie Sanders,
and they want huge global corporations and mega-successful
people to pay their taxes and help build a great great country that
includes all people and continues the system with healthy-care,
education, a natural environment, and global responsiblity - but
not put our own people in direct competition with workers in
slave states for their own profit.
That is what most Americans want, and the rich and powerful
seek to undercut that secretly, to lie, cheat, steal and even kill
people who are of no use to them.
So, if we have a democracy, or even a democratic-republic, there
is no way Trump would get re-elected, but if Trump does get re-
elected, we will know the sad truth, that the only way the people
of this country will survive, prosper and make America great again
is to have a second revolution for democracy and to continue the
first American revolution by erasing the mistakes and lapses of the
first one.
Look at the rest of the Republican candidates, and I would agree, they are all deplorable. Ignorant liars and stooges being puppeteer'ed by the worst of the American establishment's upper class elite.
Some of the Democrats are also under contract to money, but many are not, and any one of them would be better than Donald Trump .... by a light-year, forget that ... a light-century.
