Should have been Jack Reacher

I absolutely agree. If they do a sequel I hope they re-cast and do him up as Jack Reacher. Physically (like Slade Wilson or Frank Castle) Ray just fits the part, and can act the part! Jack, like Slade and Frank, is a very stoic guy, a very tactical guy, always a few steps ahead or if not, always capable of improvisation

In fact I'm doing a Jack Reacher/Frank Castle crossover. Frank is the better fighter (By a hair, as Jack has that Sherlock Holmesian and Batman type of "breaking down the fight in microseconds" but so does Frank. Frank is about 10 years older than Jack but is in tip-top condition, in spite of many injuries. Jack and Frank are probably dead-equal in strength and both very good with guns and knives...anyway. I thought it'd be a great crossover)

In fact, it's right up there (if not better) than a Dexter/Hannibal crossover I'm working on now that Dexter is over. Because I dont think for a second that

I don't ever want to see a Jack None Reacher/Frank Castle fight. I love them both and can't stand it when they get hurt! Or worse, ruin their good looks!

Have you read the latest Reacher book? It's very good, even though I swore I'd never give Lee Child another dime after he pimped Reacher out to Tom I'm-not-Jack-Reacher Cruise.

Yeah and his Rome co-star would of made an awesome Reacher as well

I thought Cruise pulled off Reacher decently well and I am a massive fan of the Lee Child books.

Physically, Cruise didn't fit, of course not. But no matter what popular opinions may be, Cruise is and always has been a fairly strong actor and this saved his performance for me.

So, I think Cruise was fine as Reacher in much the same way he was [surprisingly] acceptable as Lestat in the Anne Rice Vampire book.

But back OT, HELL YES!

For sure, Ray would make a truly great Jack Reacher. :)

Actually, for those book lovers around here, Ray might be even more perfect as Lucas Davenport [just cannot believe Hollywood has not gotten around to making a slew of Davenport movies - just one that I know of and with Mark Harmon!....Really??].

cheers and here's hoping Ray gets much more work. The guy deserves it.

When I read Lee child's books I always imagine Lee Child as Jack reacher.But Ray Stevenson would be very good.

Yeah, Jack Reacher was supposed to be 6'4" and well muscled, which is a good physical description of Ray. Plus Ray can act the pants off Tom... he just isn't as big a name is all.

Ray Stevenson would have perfect as Reacher, and like so many others, he's how I picture Reacher in my head. I saw the movie before I read the Reacher books, so Cruise mostly worked for me in the movie. However, once I read the books, I was able to understand how miscast he was.

I saw Lee Child address this in an interview once. He said that Reacher's size was important because when he entered a room, people felt is presence, and his size made him more intense. Child argued that Cruise's acting was able to portray the same thing. I agree that Cruise did okay, but Stevenson would have been immeasurably better.
