LOL, now that's funny.

don't laugh. the days of the original blockbuster are over now. there'll never be another Spielberg. now it's just people rebooting 40 year old franchises.

Shyamalan flunked it, but between 1992-2006 he came closer than anyone else.

The guy had 2 good movies, not a very impressive resume.

M night doesn't have much on Spielberg's resume . I do appreciate him tho. Yeah what a shame we definitely won't see the same number of original films, so sick of these crap rehash movies but that's what makes the cash, which rules. M night did make some garbage movies but hey at least he tries to be originl. He's made afew good ones, 1 great.

reply

At least he's not the director of that awful Bridge of Spies :D

that'll be the day

reply

Wrong, Hippo.

Going by RottenTomatoes percentages, he had 3 good movies, plus 1 half-good-half-bad movie. That's a remarkably impressive resume for only 1999-2004. Every filmmaker makes a movie that's only half-good or half-bad at some point in their career. What's important is that the filmmaker knows what he needs do in order to overcome his problems and bounce back.

It's only after his Disney producers refused to support him (refusing to greenlight "Lady in the Water", but he was suffering from film-related mental issues at the time, and anybody who could help was not there for him anymore) that Shyamalan started losing his way. But now, he's finally gotten over it, and he's bounced back with his critically-acclaimed independent film "The Visit". The movie's positive reception proves that the failure of his last 2 films were definitely more the studio's fault than M. Night's.

reply

HAHAHAHAHA, so The Visit was his epic comeback? It has a 6.2 on IMDB and a 55 on Metacritic, not exactly a critical masterpiece.

Thanks for the laugh though.

2? You're being very generous.

reply

Well I'm simply going by public opinion, according to the critics The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable were good films, Signs was average, The Village was bad, everything else was sh!t.

I personally don't like any of his movies.
