"Don't prove his point that people on the other side of the political fence can't even tolerate the existence of those who don't voice the same opinions."
GravityCakes, this emotional 4 year old is screaming for senior citizens to die because the election didn't go the way he wanted, and you accuse ME of intolerance? Friend, you take hypocrisy to near stratospheric heights...
Since you didn't understand my previous comment I'll try to explain it to you.
First, based on my limited time on stage I can tell you an actor is just a person who takes another's dialogue, another's blocking, another's costume, etc., and makes it appear to have originated from him. That's it. Granted, some are better than others at imitating, but for all the praise these clever mimics heap on each other with endless awards ceremonies they're still only a couple of steps above the court jesters of the Middle Ages.
Now, an actor has one purpose, one reason for existing, and that's to entertain the audience. Like the court harlequin, if he's good at it he'll be rewarded. If not, the audience will turn to anther for entertainment, and this "actor" will go by the wayside. If you don't believe it, then what happened to Pauley Shore and Carrot Top? The person goes on, but the actor is no more. At the moment Mr. Shannon the "actor" is well on his way to extinction. After all, producers are understandably reluctant to hire those who insult, threaten, and alienate half of a movie's potential audience.
As for Mr. Shannon, this snowflake's problem is that he's now afflicted with a condition all too prevalent in Hollywood that I call The Suzanne Somers Syndrome. It occurs when an actor begins to believe everything his press agent says about him. This results in a hyper inflated ego with the belief that his pronouncements are gold and his flatulence is preferable to Febreze. Examples of this hubris are Sheryl Crow instructing her fans on the correct number of toilet paper sheets to use, or Barbra Streisand turning her concerts into involuntary political rallies for whomever she presently supports, or Jessica Lange giving Congressional testimony of the plight of small farmers just because she played one in Country. Now comes Michael Shannon ready to lecture, hector, and even make death threats to the audience using all the political acumen he didn't learn when he didn't go to college. BTW, based on his misuse of the word "annex" it appears he didn't pay that much attention in high school, either.
Bottom line for Mr. Shannon, the audience whose continued support is critical for his existence is no more interested in his political philosophy than they're interested in a fireman instructing them on how to perform root canal dentistry. He should keep his temper tantrum demeanor to himself, do the job he's trained to do and amuse the masses, and then we'll all get along fine. If not, there are legions of wanna-be's in the wings ready to take his place. Remember, the actor needs an audience to exist. The audience doesn't need him to do likewise...
Short of hiring a mime troupe to act it out, that's the simplest I can explain it to you, GravityCakes. Please let me know if you understand my reprint now.
