Black Vulcans.
Sorry, but it makes no sense. That's not saying white Vulcans would make sense either.

Vulcan is very hot and a sunny desert planet. White skin is illogical since it would burn and become cancerous. Evolution on Vulcan = black skin.
shareMy problem is with the evolution of races like those on earth. It makes no sense. If they needed a black character for diversity, they should have made him half earthling like Spock himself. Perhaps the character was half human? I dunno, that's why I pose the question.
There could be other genetic reasons why a light skinned Vulcan doesn't get cancer.
What I do not like is the corruption of sci-fi memes without logic. As the poster above said, "illogical".

Vulcan and humans have common ancestry. White skin on Vulcan is illogical.
shareHowever, our common origin would be before the further evolution of both species so there could be no racial similarity as depicted with the black Vulcan. It defies credulity. Are there blonde-haired blue-eyed Vulcans who look like Raquel Welch in "One Million B.C"?
Are Vulcans and humans related in Star Trek? If so, what is the extent of our genetic similarity?share
Vulcans and many of the Milky Way's species all shared a common ancestry back to the Ancient Humanoids and the DNA code they produced and seeded across the galaxy.

Common ancestry = white skin = illogical on a desert planet.
share“Are there blonde-haired blue-eyed Vulcans who look like Raquel Welch in "One Million B.C"?”
I would be ok with this.
Your racism is illogical.
"Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations" - Spock
Oh JFC. Nothing racist about it. If you need a black Vulcan make him half human like Spock. But don't tell me every planet in the universe has races like those on earth. Sc-fi needs to have consistent logic or we can't suspend our belief for the plot.
shareYour defense of your racism is inadequate and illogical.
shareLol. You don't get me at all. My real life partner has skin darker than Tim Russ's.
I want consistency and accuracy in my Star Trek. A black Vulcan is illogical. At least make him half human but they didn't even do that.
Keelai, you only play into the right's hands when you get silly like this with wokeness.
Some of your best friends are black...
ROTFLMAO!
No, the love of my life is not black. I said his skin is darker than Tim Russ's.
What is your problem, exactly? You're arguing with a leftist about an issue with has nothing to do with race politics. Have a black Vulcan but give him a logical ancestry.
You remind me of the time Archie Bunker was shocked at the sight of a black Frenchman to whom he had been speaking in a hospital room with a curtain drawn between them. Seeing him for the first time, Archie says "You didn't tell me you was black." The Frenchman replies, " You didn't tell me you was white." Archie replies, "I didn't have to since I'm regular."
Like Archie, and most white people, you're thinking of whites as the generic norm. Flesh color = white skin tone. Anyone who isn't white is the "other".
A white Vulcan is the norm, but a black Vulcan needs explanation. You're unaware of your own racism. Or perhaps not since you started a racist topic.
Your implication that "leftist" means not racist and your denial of "race politics" when your topic is race politics demonstrate typical racism.
"wokeness" is a right-winger's overused term.
You peaked my curiosity, what is your love's ethnicity? Make up something good.
This is also true of black humans.
shareLizard People are the logical outcome on desert planets.
Obvious choice for races on Star Trek: Vulcans/Romulans are Asians, Klingons are African, Ferengi are Jews, Humans are White supremacists.
