shareI had the Covid last summer. barely affected me. Didn't take shit for it. Taken an antibody test since, and I have and am still actively producing antibodies for it as far as I know.
Congrats. I had it back in the beginning before testing was available to commoners and it was like a flu with extra symptoms but the aftereffects for 12 months following were a coughing fit every time I laid down so I had to sleep sitting up. I'm only now getting to the point where I can sleep in a bed for more than 30-60 minutes. I couldn't test but I'm assuming it was covid, had all the symptoms. My family doctor told me not to come in, go to the hospital if needed. My sister's antimask, antivax, plague rat boyfriend brought it home and they both spent 5 weeks in the hospital. She came out on a cane; he came out in a bag.

It's called silent hypoxia, and is a less common side effect of covid. Believed to be caused by c19 attacking regions of the brain that regulate breathing, but can be exacerbated if the virus also attacks the lungs and mechanisms that control vascular constriction. It is complicated and still being studied. But at least now I have enough information to discuss it with my doctor.
shareGood fucking Lord, that is really terrible, especially with an unpredictable future. I was a big city girl who moved out to the middle of nowhere right before the pandemic hit and I was really jonesing for the nightlife but am so grateful to be so isolated now, the virus is just too new and contagious. You are living one of the worst case scenarios in these early days, I hope you have someone looking out for you.
People playing fast and loose with this virus have no idea how terrifying it is to not be able to breath.
