She couldn't even afford Obamacare?

reply

This situation seems more like her kids don't want to use any of that inheritance money up and want other people to pay for the medical stuff.

reply

we don't know that. she may not have any money.

I don't know the accuracy of those Net Worth sites, but she is supposedly worth millions.

reply

They're worthless. Even Forbes admitted their mistake when estimating Kylie Jenners Billion Dollar networth.

Proof of healthcare is a requirement when paying taxes in the USA. How has she avoided scrutiny until now?

reply

That is not true anymore.

Even with health insurance, a major illness or injury can bankrupt a person in the USA.

reply

Her kids are on record saying she has no insurance. Did nobody play the game of LIFE as a kid, and know that you ALWAYS buy insurance?

reply

She can't be so poor so as to not be able to "afford" health insurance, I have to believe that as a former athlete, she just didn't feel it necessary. I don't have all the details, so I might be wrong. Don't go crowd-sourcing and GoFunding someone who chose to live on the edge and take the risk.

Those of us who follow the rules (like go to college for well-paying degrees, and work our tails off to pay off our student loans), are never the ones rewarded in life; it's always (usually) those who make poor decisions.

IT'S TIME TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ONE'S ACTIONS.

Why do you have any reason at all to think that you're right?

If you read up on Retton's like as a gymnast, you will know she has had various health problems that needed medical attention. For example her hip dysplasia was made worse by gymnastics.

That is a rule? Damn that's stupid. I have reaped the rewards of a life well spent and it was not the result of obtaining a college degree.

I was making an analogy to Bidens student loan debt relief. Myself and my wife and kids went to college for well-paying degrees (hint: Not philosophy) and paid off our loans. We are not the ones getting bailed out by Biden
.
Her daughter said she didn't have insurance. That seems irresponsible to me. But again, I don't know the finer details.

reply

Maybe she really does have health insurance, and the family is lying because this is a chance for easy money.

Anything is possible.
