she made it her job to extract as much wealth as possible, even while brits were suffering economically. you might want to ask yourself.

"why do I care so much? why am I grovelling to defend somone who didnt care about me? she treated her staff like garbage, would she have looked at me any better"

from someone who did all she can to avoid paying her fair share. if she loved England maybe she wouldn't be a leech extracting 30 million form tax payers. imagine that one of the worlds richest people (top 1%) getting 30 million in handouts.

I kind of get having some misguided sense of national pride if you're a British citizen but non citizens & foreign governments, many whom were colonized & subjugated, being the ones leading the groveling to honor the biggest symbol of British imperialism is indeed strange.

I love how everyone hones in on the British monarchy when it comes to 'colonized & subjugated' and ignore the countless other countries and nations long before Britain and long after.

The moarchy had there power removed after 1688. So anything after that was Parliament not the Monarchy.

Expressing sympathy at the death of a human being isn't "groveling", it's decency. And FYI expressing respect for someone who did their job well is also not "groveling", a working person saying another person was good at their job is actually an expression of a social equality of a sort, Elizabeth did her job as well as anyone could, even if she inherited it.

Here's an idea: How about the anti-monarchists stop expressing outrage at any polite or sympathetic comments, and the rest of us don't try to change your anti-monarchist opinions? Or is that even a deal, because I haven't actually seen any pro-monarchy sentiments expressed here.
