As Perpies and Yupies are 2 very different things_
Yuppy comes from Y.P. meaning Young Professional - the the mention of having money_
Preppy is a term that basically derives from private schools boarding schools - preparatory schools and so on_ Some kids ended up here because of money others on scholarship_
So it became more of a mind set - the way you act who you hang with - the way you talk - the way you dress_ In all respects a Snob in Training as they would tend to think they are better than everyone else whether they are rich or don't have a dime to their name_ So it has migrated to a mind set these days_
