Like one of those children who has a parent who's part black or has black ancestry in the family.
She had it in the distinct hair texture, olive skin tone and certain aspects of her facial features as a child. As a teen and adult she seemed to work to lose this ''look'' and it was kind of unnoticeable at this point. I can't shake the feeling there's something there.

If you look at pictures of her as a child playing young Doris Duke, at one time the richest woman in the world, and a symbol of white old money privilege, Hayden looks quite WASPy, give or take her dark eyes.
I'm sure if she had any genuine non-white ancestry, she'd be quick to publicise it, as many uber-privileged whites do, in order to appropriate a sense of oppression, and downplay their personal privilege. To Hayden's credit, I don't believe she's ever done this. Good for her!
