Could he be the greatest center of all time?

People often put Hakeem over Shaq just because of the 1995 Finals, although Shaq is superior statistically

Shaq was better than David Robinson, Ewing, and others

Kareem and Wilt belong to a weaker generation of players?

KAREEM AND WILT ARE THE OTHER TWO ACCEPTABLE ANSWERS FOR BEST CENTER EVER...SHAQ WINS SIMPLY DUE TO HIS HIGHLY UNUSUAL SKILL SET....OVER 7 FEET TALL,BUILT LIKE A SEMI TRUCK AND AMAZING BALL HANDLING SKILLS FOR A CENTER...SHAQ WAS THE PERFECT STORM AT CENTER...HE WAS,IS AND WILL BE THE BEST...EVER...FOREVER.

Shaq was great, but if he would've stayed in shape he would've been higher on the list.

As far as centers go, he under Russell, Kareem, Wilt, and Hakeem. And all of them are top 10 all-time for any position. I could see how one would put Shaq over Wilt and Hakeem, but I think they were more dominant and skilled.

I would say it's Shaq or Kareem for best center of all time. Shaq was only three years in the league when he faced a prime Hakeem and he did just fine. I think you could certainly make arguments for all three, but it's Shaq or Kareem for me.

I dont understand everyones obsession with championships when talking about greatest position player. Only one player has carried an entire team to win a championship and that was Dirk Nowitzki in 2011, and even then he didnt guard 5 players on defense. No one is winning a championship alone including Wilt, Kareem, and Chamberlin. Even Jordan couldnt do jack shit until Pippen came along (and the rest of the league was diluted with crazy, unwarranted expansion, completely ruining the game).

Shaq is not only the most dominant center of all-time, he's the most unstoppable dominant PLAYER of all-time. The only thing that could stop him was a free throw line, which also cost him a ring because of Nick Andersons free throws.
