Great actress, but she didn't really live up to the hype

This isn't knocking Noomi as a actress and saying her career is dead. She's still working and getting roles, so that's awesome. But after such a career defining role as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo, she was the hottest actress around and should have gone on to do many great films and roles. But it just never happened as she should have gone on to have the type of career say someone like Alicia Vikander had.

Has she done a role that's come close to A Girl With A Dragon Tattoo, I don't think she has. I thought her best role was probably in the Tom Hardy film The Drop. But she's either wasted in blockbusters (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Prometheus) or in projects that should have been great but didn't come out that way (Child 44) or just taken roles in crappy films (Dead Man Down, Rupture,Bright,Unlocked). I think her time has come and gone sadly unless she gets a fantastic indie film or goes back to Sweden is give a role that blows everyone's minds. But right now she go down as someone who's had one top class performance (well a Trilogy of them as Lisbeth Sallander) but nothing else on her CV stands out.

She seems to go for Scandinavian projects and indie films. Whether through choice or that's the best she can get is hard to say.

She's definitely not a big 'hollywood' actress, but she's awesome and has seemingly found a reliable market. I'm sure she's very popular in Scandinavia.

I'm not sure what happened with Alien:Covenant behind the scenes but she really should have been the new Ripley. She was great in Prometheus and to kill her off screen was a kick in the balls.

She's been in quite a few good films recently;
- Lamb (2021) is an interesting Icelandic folk horror. It got critical acclaim. Being picked up by A24 helped bring attention to it.
- The Trip (2021) is a very entertaining Norwegian thriller/horror/comedy. It's well receieved by most who've seen it.
- You Won't Be Alone (2022) is an interesting and critically acclaimed Macedonian artisan horror-drama.

If she keeps working in films like that then happy days.

People can't seem to accept the reality that there aren't a lot of movies made that have great roles for women and those that are made seem to go for just a hand full of woman for all the roles.

"...to have the type of career say someone like Alicia Vikander had."
I think five years later we can see that Alicia had her moment but suffered the same fate as most women actors. A few high profile films and then the next hot thing comes along.
