one of the few directors that still gets people excited

shareHe feels like a modern day David Lean, his film's feel like events and must be seen in the cinema. I don't think he's made a bad film, maybe his debut film Following is his weakest work and even that is a good solid film. He's a bit like Stanley Kubrick in the sense, people knock or are lukewarm on it's release then a few years later end up been hailed as classics.
shareExcept that Kubrick's filmography is far more consistent in the quality department. Nolan has only two "great" films on his belt, Memento and Dunkirk. Inception has interesting ideas. The rest of his films are empty nonsense.
