I saw Mr. Nero for the first time in Hitch-hike a few months ago and thought he was superb. It made me want to see more of his films. I ended up watching Django, Street Law, Companeros and The Fifth Cord. What are some of his other best films? I really liked him in Street Law and Hitch-hike the most.

shareAnother spaghetti western he did that I recommend is KEOMA. Really a very well done film, though the score is simply dreadful. Otherwise, it's one of the best of the genre.
shareI disagree about the music being dreadful. It's quite effective for the tone Castellari intended. Another great movie, if you can find it, is High Crime. Nero starred in a Fassbinder film entitled Querelle that you might enjoy if you're looking for a heavy drama.
shareHitch-Hike, Street Law, Companeros, and especially Keoma are all favorites of mines. Another I would recommend checking out is Sergio Corbucci's The Mercenary. Maybe a bit too similar to Companeros but Franco Nero is fantastic in it.
As for Django, I enjoyed it but I didn't find Franco Nero's performance that good, probably because of the lame dubbing. Maybe if they had kept his real voice I would've liked it more. As another poster mentioned, High Crime is another terrific performance from Franco although I don't find the film to be that good.

I usually watch Django (1966) a couple of times a year and recently I watched it in Italian with subs. Needless to say, I’ll never watch it dubbed again because so much of the story’s impact was lost in translation.
