Favourite Character?

I think that one of the reasons that Cillian is such a great actor is that he brings each character he plays to life so well that I don't feel I am watching Cillian Murphy the actor play a role, it is as if the character really exists...with that in mind, which is your favourite Cillian character?
I have a few but for me it has to be Thomas Shelby, Cillian is just mesmerising in Peaky Blinders, he steals every scene.

Damien O'Dononvon in The Wind That Shakes the Barley

For me its Jim in 28 Days Later, but then again I probably have a bias to that since its one of my favourite films

He is indeed masterful in Peaky Blinders as Thomas Shelby. An already iconic role, if I do say so myself.

That said, I get why many single out his role as Scarecrow in Batman Begins. I could say I may be partial to that role myself. An oddly charming yet super chilling villain.

Honorable mentions: Red Eye and Dunkirk (small role but he’s super effective).

I really liked that villain he played in Red Eye. So calm, yet so menacing.

I agree totally. Tommy Shelby is bad-ass! His complexity, cunning and foresight make him one of the best characters in any show today. Cillian is very good in this role.

After Peaky Blinders, I'd have to say my next favorite performance from him was as Doctor Crane/Scarecrow in the Nolan Batman movies. He was also excellent as Kappa in Sunshine, which was a more introspective character for him but still well acted.
