This guy is like the David Hasselhoff of this generation

Apparently is attractive to the ladies, although not a very talented actor, very 1 dimensional and over the top. For this reason, he'll probably be the butt of all meme jokes another 5-10 years from now.

Case in point: See is just a garbage room of film taped together of Momoa yelling "nooooo" or "arrrrggh" several octaves deeper than his actual voice.

Nope.
Now I'll never trust you

I think he will be forgotten in 5 years

I wouldn't count on it. Steven Seagal can't act for ѕhit. He has all the range of an emotionless android, but he's had a long career because they recognize this fact and just have him do action. If Jason Momoa sticks to looking menacing, beating the crap out of guys, shooting people, and blowing stuff up, doesn't attempt serious drama or (god no!) comedy, he'll do just fine and be in the business for decades. No Oscar trophies but plenty of money.

MOMOA CRACKED ME UP WITH HIS ROLE IN ONCE UPON A TIME IN VENICE...FUNNY STUFF.

Sean Connery was storming Alcatraz at 65. Sylvester Stallone did a Rambo movie at 72. I'm sure he'll manage. At a certain point everyone has to stop running, jumping, climbing, and doing their own stunts, but he'll be set for life long before he gets there.

Trash actor?

Hasslehoff had more talent in one finger.

I'm sure if we gave Jason a board he could run down the beach with it in slo-mo. 😎

reply

If you mean he is a male human being, than right on!
Other than that, there's no similarity, Hasselhoff was waaaaaay more famous than this guy, more appealing and charming, and never the action star like Momoa.

reply

Naw. Momoa is a likeable, charismatic hunk who can deliver a line without seeming like a cardboard cutout. Only time and the right roles will show if he's anything more.
Hasselhoff had his time and in it never really got beyond capable TV leading man - with two of the most enduring shows in relatively recent times. Of course he could still surprise us and produce an actorly older man role that reveals a depth of hitherto untapped talent. But in this case I suspect it's unlikely.

Remember, Hasselhoff had an extremely successful singing career in Germany. Not sure if Jas’ can carry a tune.

I saw the Hoff in Jekyll and Hyde in 1999 and I was really surprised at how good he was. I mean I'd heard his pop stuff, but that's not the same as singing live on stage night after night. It made me like him a little more.

That being said, I prefer Momoa to Vin Diesel.

Germans were said to love David Hasslehoff. Do they love this guy?
