Worst possible choice for Aquaman ever
Was it really so hard for them to get someone who bore some slight resembelance to the comic-book counterpart?

Yeah, I'm not feeling this casting choice at all, and I don't want that godawful 90s Aquaman design with that weird half armor & stupid hook.
sharehe does kinda look like a fish
shareHe'll be fine. Gal Gadot isn't exactly the spitting image of Wonder Woman either, though she is supposedly bulking up for the part.
shareI totally agree with you! Charlie Hunnam has been my top choice for the role since the announcement of an Aquaman film.
To me, Aquaman is supposed to be a lean, mean fighting machine. He is the kind of guy who can "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee."
It's not that Jason Momoa is a poor actor. It is just that Momoa, who is renowned for playing tall, bulked up warrior-type characters, is simply not right for the role.
This is the first major live-action exposure for the character (putting aside his appearances in Smallville and Entourage). I more than understand that the creative team working on the Aquaman film chose to base their interpretation on the anti-hero persona from the 1990s, in order to remove the stigma that has plagued the character for decades. However, I believe the best possible way to remove that stigma is to take the negative image of the traditional Aquaman, in his famous orange, green, and yellow outfit, and flip it on its head. To prove that a man wearing these colours is not a simple fool, but a force to be reckoned with. (Though I have to admit the costume should be slightly altered, but without compromising the integrity of the original look.)
Well I cant't change your opinion of what aquaman should look like but Momoa can suit his character quite well.
Aquaman even in the new 52 geoff johsn run(considered the best interpretation of the character) has this assertiveness, this boldnesS even thougj his appearance is different from the 90s . No one should try to mess around with him and would be more inclined to respect and obey him . Momoa can portray that sort of aura and the film should also focus more on aquamans humanity and how he feels quite misplaced from both worlds Rather than just a a badass.
