Good Actor?
I remember watching Jason Momoa in North Shore years ago. I didnt watch Game of Thornes and do know much about Conan. What are you all thoughts aside from how he looks physically?

shareHe did a pretty impressive job on "Game of Thrones." I definitely think he can pull it off.
shareI should watch Game of Thrones then and become a converted Jason Momoa fan!
shareGOT did it for me, he's a great actor, he really proved himself in GOT. He's a hell of a lot better than Arnold thats for sure.

I think he did a very good job on Game of Thrones. His storyline was one of the more intriguing ones on the show. I think with time and experience he can only get better. He definitely has the basis. But I do think he needs a little more screen time and experience. With those two things AND the way he looks he should do fine.
shareHe has fans here who will say otherwise, but Momoa isn't very bright, and he's a mediocre actor. It made me laugh out loud when I read that he already penned a script for an imagined sequel to his CONAN reboot.
shareI'm curious about what your basis is for your assertion about his intelligence.
shareArnold is not an actor. Well, technically, he is, but if being an actor just means getting paid to be in a film, then dogs, donkeys and monkeys are actors too.
shareI think he's improved dramatically as an actor. On Stargate:Atlantis, he was mediocre at best. For Game of Thrones, though his character was limited and spoke a different language-- I think his body language and mannerisms spoke volumes in that role. He wasn't acting, seem more like he became that character. He did Conan and Bullet to the Head after that. He was limited in both roles. For Conan the lines were horrible, nobody can deliver such crappy lines and be taken seriously by an audience outside of Schwartzenegger, Van-Damme and possibly Chris Hemsworth. Momoa looked the part, but something was missing. Bullet to the Head was horrible all over. Momoa did pretty well in Wolves. I thought it was his best performance to date until I saw The Red Road on Sundance Channel. He's great in it. Finally, a role that was custom made for him, where he didn't have to be some superficial bad ass or barbarian. He's kind-of bad ass, but he's mostly human and the story telling is very good. I saw Road to Paloma, it was boring but it was beautiful. I thought he did okay, but nothing special.
Overall, he's really improved as an actor, he just needs something good to work with. Obviously because of his appearance (big and ethnic) it's gonna be hard for him to find roles that are built to showcase his skills as an actor. An example would be Debug; I thought he did well, but he just didn't look right playing the part... maybe it's because he's so big and tall or maybe it's because he has that intimidating look in his eyes or brows.
