According to the producers, Gerald McRaney's character wasn't suppose to be a long term deal but he wasn't intended to die this season --BUT McRaney (and I only heard this as rumors) but I heard that he didn't like what CBS was doing to Jericho (with the lack of advertisement for the show, the long hiatus, etc...) I agree that his death should've been more significant. As for the tank, I don't think he was walking behind the firing range (which I thought was quite odd) I agree that his death should've more of a significant meaning.
