Miriam Margolyes has recalled working with 'rude' Arnold Schwarzenegger on the set of 1999's horror film End Of Days.

Speaking on the Have I Got News For You podcast the actress, 81, revealed that the action star even went as far as 'farting' in her face.

Miriam claimed that the ungentlemanly gesture was done 'deliberately' and said the actor was 'a bit too full of himself'.

She told the hosts: 'He farted in my face. Now, I fart, of course I do – but I don't fart in people's faces. He did it deliberately, right in my face.'

She continued: 'I was playing Satan's sister and he was killing me, so he had me in a position where I couldn't escape and lying on the floor. And he just farted,'

Adding: 'It wasn't on film, it was in one of the pauses, but I haven't forgiven him for it.'

I expect this will open the floodgates and we'll now have many fart-in-the-face victims of Arnie coming forward to talk of their traumatic experiences. I hope we can get to the bottom of each and every one of these explosive incidents.

Here in the UK, she's a national treasure. Brilliantly funny and absolutely no filter whatsoever. Splendid character actor too, as it happens.

She’s an adopted national treasure here in Australia too. Her Aussie residence is actually about 1/2 hour drive from my place!

I suspect in part she gets the attention she craves by being "controversial". But when recently describing her Cambridge University days she said some of the ( later to be ) Monty Python crew and other males were "absolute shits" to her at that time so she has a long track record of not getting on with ( at least some ) people.

John Cleese ( one of the alleged "absolute shits" ) exercised his right of reply and took the opportunity to call her Miriam Gargoyles so he wasn't exactly interested in smoothing things over with her.
