‘Creepy, homophobic, horrific’: George Lazenby’s Perth Concert Hall interview shocks audience

This story is based on just 2 callers to talk radio. One was triggered, the other defended George. Why no quotes? I bet the "homophobia" was a joke.

A Perth music lover has called Australian actor George Lazenby’s appearance at a Perth Concern Hall event on the weekend “creepy” and “horrific” and claimed his sleazy anecdotes will likely have triggered responses in any sexual assault victims in the audience.

There's that classic word again..."Offended"
I mean, you mightn't agree with many things in life, but do people actually get 'offended'? Does it affect their psyche? Do they get convulsions? Do they have a little cry? Usually 'offended" is just a byword to complain about something they don't agree with (and little else)

The woman caller sounds like a right stuck-up Karen-type, who I'll wager gets 'offended' quite often (and possibly on behalf of others too?)

Another attendee described the interview as the "self-interested misogynistic stories of George Lazenby's sexual prowess, intimate details of diarrhoea and objectification of women."
"It wasn't until a brave member of the public shouted, 'Excuse me, this is offensive', that the tension was released and George was jeered off stage and music saved the day ...

I'd be surprised if there was no footage of this but it sounds like he managed to offend a lot of people there?

A second caller to 6PR defended the actor, saying his stories were a deliberate "exaggeration" for comedic effect.
"He didn't kidnap [anyone], there was no rape. People were just getting so woke. [The show] was very entertaining until people were yelling out and booing."

Yep, you had to be there to know what was actually being said and the way it was said. But your quote was in response to: At one point he named an Australian cricketer whose daughter he was chasing, and he said he dragged the daughter out of a pub and put her in a car in London ... - which doesn't sound great.
I don't know what the event was - it sounds like a concert performance of Bond themes plus Lazenby reminiscing. I'm guessing it was not a particularly young audience and it is in Australia - you'd think they would be less inclined to get offended about stuff now deemed beyond the pale? (Dear Australians - apologies if that seems too broad brush).

Your quite right. It would seem that an older crowd would be a bit more tolerant.
