More political nonsense. Institutional investors own about 574,000 single family homes compared to 90,000,000 total homes or about .638 percent. It's taken them approximately 14 years to acquire them.

No. It's an important issue and deserves to be addressed. He's just not proposing a real solution.

What do the institutional investors do with those houses? Rent them?

Yes they rent them. It's a yield play with a capital gain possibility later. More than likely rolled into a REIT much like they do mortgages into larger MBS bonds.
