Dawn of the Dead question for CJ

I am here from the "Dawn of the Dead" 2004 message board becuase several people on there told me that Michael Kelly himself sometimes checks in here. First off let me say great work dude, loved the character. Secondly, I am here becasue several people on the "Dawn of the Dead" board want to know what CJ is supposed to be eating in that scean where he and the character Michael are talking about boarding up the doors and painting signs on the roof. Thank you in advance for any light you can shead on this.

A little more formal here, eh libra?
I did correct the end of your title, as the question is for Michael...*polite snicker*
Our overzealous libra is right. The discussion of what CJ is munching on in the "nice tall glass" scene has been debated, contested, puzzled over and generally unsatisfied.

Noone has resorted to threats yet, but we're all at a loss as to what CJ is chewing, even the consistancy of his snack is undetermined.
Please, please clue us in on this tiny little detail.

With that said, you totally owned the movie! Standout performance in an otherwise entertaining plot driven movie without much character dimension and a lot of loose ends.

well I tried to phrase it that way to make it clear that I was hoping the actual actor would awnser, well it sounded like a good idea at the time. Fingers crossed.

LOL you guys are hilarious. he might read but he never posts. but perhaps this confounding subject will draw someone out who knows. perhaps the property master from Dawn? we should look that persons name up and post in their sure-to-be-empty forum.

Gracias. I'm enjoying myself :)
You've said he reads, so we might as well be amusing. I know a lot of actors do checkout message boards and sites for feedback- or have family and friends that occasionally keep an eye on things and report back. (My brother does this, and tells me to post something...like he's not going to sully his hands by doing it personally. *L*)

It's quite simple to make an account and choose settings so you don't get email replies or personal responses by those darn annoying fans; or have a friend make an account and log into it from time to time. (just a nonchalant suggestion)

And since the dvd was sorely lacking on bonus material and actor commentary (wtf is with that) it's not as if we had the answers available.

What the hey, I'm game if you are.

actors are gay that way, they dont want to be caught self promoting but they will stoop to the lowest levels to get others to do it. I like people like Bruce Campbell who aren't afraid of their fans, and leave an appropriate distance, but still interact with them. As for dudes like your bro and Michael Kelly, they are just not popular enough yet to bother thinking that they would be inundated with messages or something.

I think the only people who know what he was eating was those on the set on that day which makes our chances of catching one of them in here very slim (at most that could be like 20 people, at least maybe a dozen, not including actors because they never remember what other actors were doing)

wow i am really venting on actors today!

I meant to reply to this last week, but its been a busy week. (don't need to elaborate here, it would turn into a rant ;)
I adore Bruce Campbell. Evil Dead, Xena, loved those roles. Bought his book a few years ago (whenever it came out) and it was a great read. (sidenote- I read it about the same time I read Mick Foley's book...both biographies, and both enjoyable reading.)

I didn't see Bubbahotep when it was briefly out in theaters. My mom was in Romania and my dad was bored and lonely, so I stopped by bestbuy, bought a couple movies, Bubbahotep being one of them.

Then proceeeded to watch this movie with my dad. Wow. It was awful! I could deal with the aging Elvis/nursing home/delusional friend who thinks he s FDR, and the mummy. But not the mummy moonlighting as a cowboy, and the slow pace of the flick... meandering to the climax, and the penis cancer.

Only watch it if you're a hardcore Bruce fan. *g*

.....I think having unsanctioned websites devoted to them, and reading a few fan posts, its gratifying on both sides. You get some feedback outside of industry and friends...as long as it doesn't reach obsessive proportions. But you lose your privacy, and at a less mainstream level of popularity, you can still maintain some control, and/or artistic license.

Shawn was moderately amused by reports and messages, until I told him one of his fans swiped the filthy cup he was using to butt his cigarettes in! Strange choice for a souvenier--but I can understand that phase. *l*

oopsie! already saw Bubba at the Toronto Film Festival a few years ago and have seen it many times since (actually saw it BEFORE the evil dead tril!) and I adore that movie! sorry! I just wish they had more money to do all the cool stuff they wanted to but couldn't pay for. Don Coscarelli is a cool dude.

bought Bruce's book the day after I saw the movie and went to see him when he did a booksigning in Harvard Square. Some kid brought a chainsaw for him to sign. We told him we had seen Bubba a couple weeks earlier and he was mighty impressed since no one else had seen it yet :)

And before I forget - I think the answer to your question is in the guestbook at my site ;)

So you adore the movie eh? Well, there's no accounting for taste...*totally kidding*
Isn't the book so inviting? Informative, and a fun read.

How did he react to the chainsaw?

Yeah, too bad I ruined your surprise though, *sneezes*
off topic, have you seen Lawn Dogs? It stars Sam Rockwell, Mischa Barton, Kathleen Quinlan...the cinematography is stunning, its high class indie.
