He doesn't like films by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.
As great a guy and a talented filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky is, he doesn't like films by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino because, according to him, they are very "business-oriented" movies with showy camera work and he find movies like "The Matrix" (1999) boring however he does love some of Hollywood's somewhat related films like "Starship Troopers" (1997) and "Dark City" (1998)...
Although he has his preferences, given how easily he dismisses some talented works and filmmakers, he must have extremely high standards when it comes to movies.
I wonder, what does he think of made for TV and straight-to-video or these days even straight-to-DVD movies or are they all not something he would think about even for a second?
What about modern day say "torture" porn flicks like works of Eli Roth or the "Saw" movies?
Oh well...
