Please learn to WALK like a normal person!

Can't watch him walk...it looks completely retarded. Doesn't seem to be just for this show, did the same thing in Pacific arim.

That is his natural walk and a lot of us who grew up in working class neighborhoods like it. If you watch Queer as Folk you'll see that he had that pimp walk even as a teen. Charlie came from a working class background where everyone had to be tough. The walk is part of Charlie.

He claims it's a geordie thing, but it isn't.

How do you know? Did you grow up with him? I watched him in Queer As Folk when he was a teen and he had that thug walk even then. I could tell he grew up in the streets by that walk.

I'm from the same place, and this is not some shared local thing. If other geordies comment on him doing an exaggerated walk (and I've heard it from a number of people, including ones who have met him, attended the same school, worked in the same places, and so on), then it's clearly not 'a geordie walk' as he would like people to believe. This is not an attack, I've got no problem with him as a person, apparently he's a nice guy, but some of the things he has had to say about where he's from (such as comparing it to a war zone) are at best exaggerated for effect.

Here's an example, from an old friend, also a geordie, who bumped into him when he was back in Newcastle a couple of summers ago (names and the like have been censored so as to not drag people into it). My friend thought the over the top walk was just something he did in the show until he met him. http://oi58.tinypic.com/ek0rbc.jpg

Hi Robot-Werewolf - I grew up in South Central. Some boys walked like pimps, others didn't. If Charlie's memories are of growing up in a battle zone, so be it. If his bad ass swagger was an affectation once upon a time, it's now become part of him, one of his trade marks. I personally think he might have exaggerated because he was such a pretty boy as a teen and needed to look tough. I like his walk as do other fans. How about letting it rest?

With all due respect, the only reason there's more than one post from me on this thread now is because you questioned me. Unlike many, I'm not on IMDb with the goal of being rude to or about anyone, but I will respond to threads that I have something to add to, as was the case here. This is a discussion board, and what I said is relevant to the topic, even if you don't like the subject. And if someone else should reply to me about this, I'm not going to feel obligated to ignore them just because you don't want people to discuss this. No offence intended.

Fingers crossed for Crimson Peak.
