And no-one mourned.
And to think how everyone would have felt about his death 12+ years ago (his victims excluded). No exaggeration, but there would have been a mass outpouring of grief. Prior to his public exposure as a child sex offender, he was a beloved institution, and few people had a bad word to say about him in public (in contrast to say Jimmy Savile, who a lot of people regarded as a creep even before all of his crimes came to light).
