Overrated and not as famous

This guy has a troubled past.He was a drug addict and has some issues. He brings all those to all his roles all the time. All of them are one and the same.TROUBLED.
So for someone to be a great actor they need to have range and not play the same role with different costumes and settings.
Then some might ask why he is soo overrated..well his fanbase is from UK and they are more like fans of conor mcgregor..they blindly support him and then there is bane..due to some twisted connection fans make between batman villians...all the fans are like if Nolan cast him as bane then he must be great.
Even his roles in Locke and that puppy movie are all troubled.
He is not famous...he might be famous in UK because he is from UK and there is that pedigree.
Most of his hits are named IPOs.

So he joins the ranks of other acclaimed actors who act exactly the same in every single movie, such as Morgan Freeman, Clint Eastwood, and Tom Cruise.

Hardy doesn’t have the Star power/draw of any of those actors though

Did Tom Hardy hurt your feelings or something? Did he refuse to give you his autograph?

He didn't pass the bong.

Sure you’re not confusing Hardy with Cruise?

I mean that’s a pretty hard statement to swallow. Obviously haven’t seen enough of his films. I mean in Legend alone he played two extremely different characters and pulled it off so expertly that you completely forget that you are watching the same actor.

That you mentioned drug use first thing makes me suspect your issue with Hardy is something entirely different than his acting range.

LEGEND...YES...THAT WAS MY FIRST THOUGHT WHEN I READ THE OP'S POST.

Total nonsense.

I actually agree, he does bring the same demeanour to his roles, Peaky Blinders, Mad Max, Taboo, The Revenant and Lawless are all essentially the same character in mannerisms and speech patterns, he also just stares into space and doesn’t even deliver his lines to his co-stars.

I actually don’t mind Tom Hardy but people who lap up every role he does as an acting “masterclass” really need to broaden their horizons.

He seems to be mentioned alongside Gary Oldman quite a lot, but Oldman has insane range whereas Hardy doesn’t, a closer comparison to Oldman is someone like Stephen Graham who has 100x more range than Hardy does, so does James Mcavoy as well.
