Why does he pick such great movies?

I'm amazed as well. he really doesn't do trashy films like many do.

I love his movies. Honestly, I think he would be a great actor to portray The Joker if Jared Leto gets cut from the project. If you want too see Jake playing a psychotic and sociopathic weirdo, watch Nightcrawler. He is scary in that film. He gave me the creeps.

Actually, none of his movies are unfortunately considered great. Donnie Darko, Zodiac, Prisoners and Nightcrawler all these have Cult following, but he has never achieved a blockbuster yet. If he actually does one, then he could achieve the popularity of Decaprio like we have today who I consider is definitely not above Jake on the whole.

I doubt he could achieve that or would he really want to. He's def viewed as 1 of those talented actors who causes 1 to be dumbfounded when you found out that he's only had 1 Oscar nomination. A lot of folks know him from DD or BM and lately Nightcrawler. He's just never been a box office ace. But his career hasn't slowed due to it.

All of those movies you mentioned, among others like End of Watch, are definitely considered great movies, despite the fact they might not have made a huge amount of money. I don't think Jake is really interested in huge blockbusters and I respect him for that. He's obviously very preoccupied with with finding work that has depth, rather than whatever's gonna make the most bank. I mean, he passed on Suicide Squad. It made a ton of money, but it was terrible. Dude is smart. He makes great choices.

Of course, it didn't slow down. Those who started loving him will never stop doing that. No matter what he does, we are here to appreciate as we do know he's not gonna disappoint us.

Yeah, agree with that Suicide Squad thing. He chooses his roles wisely.
