shareI totally agree...one of the marks of a truly great actress. The American accent is totally believable.
shareI just watched Rachel on Last Call and I was surprised to hear that she spoke with an accent closer to that of Brenda than an Australian. How long has she been in America? Doesn't she have a house in OZ? I just got back from a trip with my Aussie friend who's lived in America for 13 years, and my friend's accent is much stronger.
shareI read an interview in which she said that when she's in the states she always puts on the accent. it helps her to stay in the accent for the whole of the time she is shooting SFU, so she might use the accent for a whole five months or more a year. after using it for that long i would imagine that it would be difficult to get out of it.
Rest assured, her Australian accent is in tact and sounds fabulous!
Flawless accent! Not something that most actors say is easy to do. Rachel is some gifted and terrific actress!
shareBut remember: a flawless accent does not make someone a brilliant actor/actress. But with or without it, Rachel is EXTRAORDINARY. I feel like aplauding everytime she appears on screen, her performances themselves are always terrific. I hope she has a long, prosperous career. And another thing, am i the only one who thinks its high time she wins an emmy for her role as Brenda in SFU. She is superb in it.
