Is he an elite director?

Now that he's won his second directing Oscar that puts him along some greats like Spielberg, Ang Lee and Milos Foreman. However, with the exception of Spielberg, I've always been reluctant to call all these guys elite. Do you consider Iñárritu to be elite since critics have generally gave all his movies a positive response? What constitutes an elite director to you?

Here are some directors I think are elite:

Stanely Kubrick
Federico Fellini
Ingmar Bergman
Alfred Hitchcock
Akira Kurosawa
Woody Allen

To be honest its too early to say, you can say he is one of the greats, but "elite" as you put it would need more of those special movies. But thinking of "too early to tell" - That also connects to the only thing I can find thats sad about his career... his age, he made his first movie when he was close to 40, he is now 50+. It doesnt have to mean anything, but its rare that directors get better in old age... So I dont see that happening.

Just shows how hard it is to get into filmmaking I guess.
