Faris as Kyo from KOF!? WTF?

I don't understand why he is casted Kyo unless the cast list on IMBD is wrong especially how KOF has more than one protagonist of different ethnic groups.. I mean, KOF is very diverse so it wouldn't be necessary to cast a caucassian character in a japanese role. If they wanted someone who was caucassian, why not have Terry Bogard the main character?

Just that it seems like a trend as of late to change all the lead asian roles as caucassian ppl or a people of mix ancestry just to make it appealin to the mass audience. I mean asian ameircans can't carry a film if they are a lead, even if the film is an martial arts flick? Sorry, but I am gettin sick of this whitewash method that Hollywood has recently been doing.
