You realize that she has LITERALLY played one role for the past two years, right? Are you saying you wish she would take movie roles again? Because She & Him are touring this summer, so it probably won't happen for a while. If Jess Day isn't your thing there are plenty of other shows on TV.

I think she's able for exceptional performances if the part is right.

She wasn't very Manic Pixie in The Good Girl, Almost Famous, Mumford, or Manic. She was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for a pretty realistic portrayal of a completely average small town Texas teen in All The Real Girls. She was downright depressing in Winter's Passing. As I recall she played a dimwit who literally could not function in the light of day in Your Highness. Haven't seen The Assassination of Jesse James, but I'm guessing she wasn't anywhere near Manic Pixie in that. And she hasn't done anything other than her show in the last 2 years. It's plain to see that those who are sick of her being one note don't watch the show either, because the growth of that character has been done pretty well. Maybe she'll shoot a film next summer or over a haitus or something. Would like to see her so another film.

Frasier is on tonight and I recognized something about the lack of mimics on a character's face and the monotone voice, and I looked it up and it's a young her. The same character, and no comedic talent.
I can't wait till she goes away. Her hipster act will make her fade away eventually.

I think Zooey can be exceptional with the right material. Nobody else could have replaced her part in "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Thats is to date my favorite performance of her. Unfortuntely the movie was quite unpopular.
I havent watched Good Girl because it bored me quickly. I dont think Almost famous is anything but extraordinarily superboring. I havent tried to watch those other two.
