Opinions on "People Are People"?

I personally love that song and rank it among one of their best songs, sadly Martin Gore wasn't very fond of this song and they no longer perform it live.

A BBC children's programme took away from the coolness of the song by having it be their theme.

Was it used on the show It'll Never Work?

reply

Extremely annoying. I don't like the song (very silly lyrics and very repetitive), but it still gets stuck in my head every time I hear it.

reply

I agree it is a very catchy song and I find it to be a very addictive pop song, the subject matter of the song really makes me think.

reply

I heard it played often in clubs during the early 90’s. That says something of its popularity since it came out in the mid 80’s.

reply

I used to think "People Are People" came out sometime around 1989 or so myself, I was shocked it came out in 1984 because I didn't even know they existed until late 1989 or early 1990 when I first saw the video to "Personal Jesus" on MTV.

reply

Catchy song and I especially like the part Martin sings but I can see why they'd be embarrassed of the simplistic lyrics.

reply

I love how both Martin and Dave switch vocals, I think Dave would've made a great blue eyed singer if he was into that kind of music.

reply

Really cringe lyrics.
