she was actually good on lost, but i think her character was written badly during a lot of scenes.

Ditto - she was fine, but the character got gradually more annoying as the show progressed. By the end she was unbearable. I don't think that was Emilie's fault. The writers just didn't know what to do with her anymore. Unfortunately, there are lots of areas of the show for which that happened.

The writers couldn't write women roles to save their life. I don't think Claire got annoying, I know if I had been through all the crap she had been through, I'd be annoying too.

It's true, they did seem to have trouble writing for women. Kate became bland and uninteresting over the course of the series after starting out as mysterious and intriguing. Claire went from being a woman in a very interesting predicament to a caricature of a crazy person, and her point in the whole scheme of the show seemed to be gone. Her story went nowhere. And Sun was never really all that interesting.

Did they ever explain why the hell MOB lured her away in the middle of the night, leaving Aaron just hanging out in a bush? I never understood his point in doing that. And then four years down the road, she's crazy, and doesn't even remember peacing out on her kid. It just made no sense to me lol.

Unfortunately, the ending of Lost revealed that they were mostly pulling an X-Files - making it up as they went along with no clear ultimate intent. This was one of many, many things that didn't make any sense. It's one thing not to solve all the mysteries. That's fine. But so many things in that show were just ignored and, in retrospect, happened for no apparent reason. I wish they would have closed it out as well as they opened it up.

Ugh, I couldn't stand her on Lost. "MAI BAYBAYYY" I don't know if it was her fault or the writers' fault, but I thought she was the weakest female actress in a main role.
