I think the "ugly" remark was in terms of the following word "sin" because they also said he's "sexy as hell" although that's a bit contradictory to think "sin" is ugly but "hell" is sexy...
Anyway I think that person was in agreement with the OP that he's hot.

If you are talking ONLY based on appearance, then no he is not hot. I would consider him average looking at best, as would most others.

You're not the only one. There's a huge teenage girl fanbase surrounding him. Myself included.... I had a pretty big crush on him a few years ago. I still think he's good looking. He's a great actor.
