What is so important about her?

I've been watching 2 broke girls and every time she makes an appearance the crowd (if it's live) is going crazy. (if it's not live they want to make us think that she is some kind of big deal)
I'm not here to trash her or anything, I really don't know what's so important about her and why her appearance is such a big deal.
She is a regular now right? I've never seen such a fuss about a regular, only for guest stars.
And I really don't know how big a star is she.
I mean, I'm Greek I don't have much knowledge on all American TV shows and movies, but I've only seen her on American pie, I think that was her big break, once on Friends, God she was annoying there, on Joey, she was annoying there too, and on 2 broke girls.
So please tell me, and I'm really not being ironic here, I'm actually kinda enjoying that such a big woman is getting so much attention, but what's her deal and everyone is cheering like crazy in that show?

oh so that...
There are way more gorgeous "MILFs" like Catherine Zeta Jones but Jennifer Coolidge is the ultimate MILF because of American Pie and this is why the crowd goes crazy every time she shows up in a show that is about 2 broke girls and not MILFs.
Still, don't have anything against her, I find her pretty funny on the show, but don't get why is she such a big deal.

I had to wonder this, too.

I haven't seen 2 Broke Girls much, but in each episode thus far, she bursts on to the screen and the attention is focused on her as if she were some classic star. They might do that with, say, Rosanne Barr, who's another irritating, unattractive older female, but at least Rosanne is an icon in TV, and is a lot more enjoyable, onscreen, having an "it" factor Jennifer doesn't.

Jennifer just seems annoying to have appear, and it seems a relief when she's gone. I don't know if she's a terrible actress, or a fairly good one playing an intentionally unlikable character.

I think that she is great and likable in 2 Broke Girls, she is funny and good for young girls who sometimes are mean, maybe that's why she is important, so don't be mean and don't judge people.

First of all, we're talking about a CHARACTER, and, to a lesser extent, the abilities of the actress who plays her.

Questioning the likability of a character on a TV show and speculating about the reasons she comes across a certain way is hardly "mean" nor is it judging a PERSON.

Sigh. That's part of the problem with today's society; too many people think evaluating a performance is "mean" or somehow a criticism of one's character.
