There are many many better actors but he was the best ever Chuck Connors - and very watchable.

I love the old TV Westerns, and used to attend Western Festivals, where many actors from the shows would be there in person to sign autographs, take pictures and answer questions ...one of them, was Ben Cooper, who guest starred on many of the shows, including one episode of The Rifleman. He specifically went out of his way, to tell us how astonished he was, during rehearsal, to see what a great actor Chuck Connors was...he had a very emotional scene where he was really crying ( no glycerin drops ) I was so happy to hear that, because I love Chuck Connors.

Yes, if you’ve ever seen him as Mr Warren I’m Summer Camp Nightmare (1987) then you’ve indeed witnessed some splendid acting. I’ll never forget the anger on his face after the infamous Beef Bologna routine.
