shareNot him, too. That's a shame. Hope the suggested allegations are not true.
shareWill have to wait to hear more but so far these claims but they seem a bit fuzzy on the issue of sexual harassment. It sounds like socially inappropriate and perverted behavior but I think were going down a very slippery slope of any unwanted sexual overtures constituting harassment even if it isn't made clear that they were unwanted until after the fact.
shareI have to agree. In the NY Times interview, the two females interviewed stated CK asked if he could take out his
penis, then took off all of his clothes, then started masturbating. HOLES galore!
Why didn't these two women (TWO women) simply turn and walk out AS he was disrobing, rather than HANG AROUND
to see him starting fiddling with the family jewels???
Inappropriate sexual behavior ISN'T RAPE! There's a huge difference. If the man is sexually sick, hopefully he will
address his issues, but if - IF - this is all there is to his yucky behavior, I don't see why the man's career should
be ruined.
And what about the powerful industry WOMEN who have harassed men (yes, women...I've know two straight male
actors that were told their careers would be in jeopardy if they didn't sleep with said female executives).
Male executives are far worse, but that doesn't mean female predators don't exist.
And WHY are all these "victims" choosing to gang up on these stars NOW?
BTW, I'm not even a fan of CK. At all. I'm just SICK OF ALL OF THIS.
there's probably more to come
shareBut where do we draw the line????
Back in the '80's, I knew an extremely gifted artist. He was gorgeous and straight. Tons of celebrities
were noting his work, and requesting that he sell/paint to/for them.
One day he got a call that a (still living) LEGENDARY diva asked to meet with him privately about his
work. He went alone and met her at her home. She was all over him - touching him, groping him,
making him extremely uncomfortable. He kept telling her he had a girlfriend and he wasn't interested.
She kept asking him for a "one time thing." He wouldn't budge, and threatened to leave. She - yeah,
SHE - finally gave up, sulked, and showed him out. She did purchase a painting, but she left him
very uncomfortable. He told me he felt intimidated and harassed, and only when he threatened to
sever any chance of a sale, did she back down.
This is a LEGENDARY singer. And don't try to guess, because the industry is rife with these types of
stars. Stars of BOTH genders.
This isn't about sexism, as I don't think this female entertainer should've had her career
ruined either. She was pushy, demanding and sexually obnoxious, but enough already!!
Madonna. This has to be Madonna.
Edit. She collects a huge amount of artwork.
I feel ya. I have walked away from situations like this myself. They felt more like an eyeroll annoyance rather than a fight or flight violation. I by no means condone sexual assault, but I am with you on the slippery slope. I am curious as to what the real agenda is here or what is else is going on that this is distracting us from.
