Would you hire him?

reply

I'd hire him on an hourly basis.

reply

ME TOO!!! I think he is cute and I love his accent!

reply

yeah.

Him and Bow wow are the only good part of Tokyo Drift. I don't mean by looks, but by believability. Sony Chiba of course too.

he's actually an amazing actor. please see some of his early acting such as Caleb in American Gothic. Outstanding.

as for the lack of film/tv credits, i read somewhere that he doesn't concentrate on acting only but does a myriad of things that he feels passionately about.

this guy could be much more publicised and getting more film roles but he chooses not to do go down that route.

and why should he?

I think xxxbox had some good points. I became a huge Lucas Black fan after Sling Blade and All Pretty Horses. He is a very talented actor but the drop off happened I think for two main reasons:

One, Lucas was on somewhat of a roll after Friday Night Lights and Jarhead, and proved that he could make the transition from child to adult actor. It was a sensitive time in his career, and he decided take his first adult lead role in a major film. He may have been swayed by money somewhat but took a role in Tokyo Drift. A bad film that was not a real good fit for him. While it's a set back for any actor to star in a lousy movie, it was not a disaster of epic proportions. As long as he chooses his next roles carefully and renders strong performances, he should be fine with no permanent career damage.

Second, as mentioned he has a laid back approach to acting and is not driven to be Hollywood movie star in the traditional sense.

Like to see him hook up again with BB Thorton, maybe for a Sling Blade sequel.

LOL, this is why I love going back in my posting history.

I love this guy, he's starring in a new movie called Get Low alongside Bill Murray and Robert Duvall. The movie sounds great but it looks like it'll take some time to get released in theatres and home video.
