Serious question. He talks so slow and he just isn't witty at all. I don't know how anyone can think this guy is a great actor unless its out of sympathy for his handicap.

sharei grew up in the south, and southern people talk a lot slower than other people. it kind of goes along with the long drawal on the vowels when speaking. southern people on average can't understand people with heavy accents or who speak fast. i learned this over the years since i don't have an accent (father wasn't from the south), despite growing up here, i often have to repeate myself since i talk faster and i hear the slow talk and drawal everyday. so that explains his dialect and syantax.
shareYup, I have to agree with Vandal. I lived in the South for a year(Tennessee to be exact) and picked up an accent. When I moved back to California, people couldn't even understand me and I had to repeat myself also.

I'm from the south and I have no problem understanding people with accents. My girlfriend was born in and lived most of her life in the Caribbean and has lived in California since the age of 15. She retain some of her accent from the Caribbean and talks fast like people in Cali and we have no communication problem.
Lucas Black is a good actor, people just don't give him much credit because of his southern accent.
