i've been following the stories of the case and some of it seemed favorable for him. i know he a total jerk for all those NDA with his assistants and others

shareMany people assume all of the "technical stuff" in the law only benefits defendants, but this case shows you the immense power advantage that prosecutors have. They were allowed to bring in a witness (Sciorra) with a 25 year-old allegation that never saw the light of day before this case and then present a buffet of charges to the jury so they were able to do exactly what they did, which was to acknowledge reasonable doubt but punish him anyway.
shareI expect his lawyers will be filing a motion for the judge to overturn the jury verdict which is probably a 50/50 chance, even though any reasonable reading of the transcript would lead one to admit that there is no way you could really convict him on the charges. When the two victims give testimony that contradicts their allegation of rape, it begs the question of what the fuck was the jury thinking? Clearly he is a sleaze bag, but while he is a sleaze bag that isn't a crime. Never in the history of rape do you have a rape victim inviting their alleged rapist to come and meet their mother because they love them so much.
At any rate the odds are very favorable for the appeal to win because of the bullshit testimony of Sciorra. The judge fucked up royally when he allowed that testimony.

shareLet's be real about this people, I'm no fan of Harvey Weinstein, but if these ladies didn't get on his casting couch, they would have absolutely got on someone else's couch to get where they're at now. Just because he was a sleazy producer doesn't mean that they felt completely dirty from what they accuse him of doing. This type of stuff goes on to this very day,

Now if only I didn't firmly believe he'll find a way to get out in a few weeks, because there's one system of law for the poor and another for the rich in this country.
Oh yeah. He will serve about 4 years. Of course his time and time served by regular people are much different.
shareBut he's probably get out on appeal, because every expensive lawyer in the world can find a reason to appeal. And then there will be delays due to medical excuses backed up be real doctors, and more appeals, and delays, and he'll privately hit Trump up for a pardon, and more appeals, and a key witness will have some terrible accident...
I predict a few weeks served, total. We'll see who's right.
And he's already out of jail and in a hospital, because he claimed chest pains.
