I appreciate the 90s vibe of Timberlake's new album. Strange how this skinny white kid is schooling the black 'r&b' stars on how its done... He's not afraid to have soul in his music while everyone else is doing pop and dance.

Anthony Hamilton, Eric Benet, Raheem Devaughn, Tyrese, Eric Roberson, Dwele, Maxwell, John Legend, R.Kelly, Brian Mcknight will all hand this boy his ass on a silver platter when it comes to straight VOCALS
And so could Raphael Saadiq, Donell Jones, Amel Larriuex, Marsha Ambrosius, Goapele etc.. But you know what? 90% of these singers are Neo-Soul singers. They are not pop RnB. The point is, no commercial R&B singer at Timberlake's level are doing the style of RnB he is doing, a style which the 90s and the Early 2000s are now famous for.
Note I said Pop/RnB in my title and yeah it may suck that someone from N*Sync of all bands is making this kind of music and being successful at it, but none of his contemporaries who are equally successful to him like Chris Brown, Beyonce, Rihanna, Usher etc are consistently releasing this kind of music as singles, if at all. Beyonce and Usher may have better voices than Timberlake, but their sound is more pop than rnb (and that includes John Legend and R Kelly to a certain extent as well).
