Why is everyone suddenly defending her?

Is everyone forgetting that that she shaved her head and attacked a car with an umbrella? Did they forget she drove a car with her infant child in her lap? Did they forget that she eloped and the marriage lasted for a weekend? She was obviously going through personal issues.

reply

Because authority is always wrong.

Her dad might be taking advantage of her, I have no idea. Could very well be true. But it's pretty obvious she's mentally ill. A public meltdown, the kid incident (she says she wants more kids too), and I remember reading she's bipolar. Christ, just LOOK at her. She cries in interviews and rambles incoherently.

I do feel bad for her and if her dad is abusing her, he should by all means be punished, but just because he (might be) an asshole doesn't mean she's normal.

reply

I can't say whether or not she is mentally ill right now because she's been out of the spotlight for a few years, but she was definitely mentally unfit years ago. She may hate her dad for all I know, but at the time it was very possible she couldn't take care of herself.

reply

Wasn't she 5150'd?

She's on Lithium. She confirmed it just yesterday: https://www.newsweek.com/britney-spears-lithium-side-effects-mood-stabilizer-explained-1603728

reply

I never heard about this.

reply

Well, that confirms my long-standing assumption that she has bipolar disorder! That's why people take lithium! The thing is, the bulk of people with bipolar disorder aren't under conservatorships, and in some cases that means they are legally free to refuse medication and ruin their lives, which really does happen.

Whether or not she qualifies for conservatorship doesn't hinge on her ability to present herself well to the public, it depends on whether her illness or illnesses qualify her as "being gravely disabled", that is, whether she is able to function independently. If she qualified for a conservatorship this long she may either have such severe bipolar/schizoaffective disorder that she's unable to care for herself or she may have some other condition that makes her unable to function independently. We don't know, the judges who've confirmed the conservatorship in the past, but the thing is... bipolar and other chronic mental illnesses don't just go away. If she was gravely disabled in the past she's probably just as disabled now, and looking good the public doesn't mean everything is fine.

reply

This whole issue has become "a thing" and when something reaches this level, people lose perspective. I think a lot of people are just fans and as fans, they blindly side with her - or make this an anti-authority/rights thing and don't necessarily care
about if she's actually capable of taking care of herself. I think you, me, samoanjoe are in the (rational) minority, actually attempting to look at her situation.

And over the years, she simply does not appear to be a normal adult imo:

Those two clips (the last two links) are from separate interviews. You can clearly see she's not all there - not to be mean, but she speaks like someone who has a child's understanding of things - especially since we know she's on meds and has had a few public meltdowns.

The bipolar stuff has quietly been tossed around for years:

"No jokes right now. I have dedicated my career to offering education and insight about bipolar disorder and I’m so disturbed by what I’m seeing. Personal opinions about someone aside, a manic episode isn’t a joke. If you can’t offer understanding or sympathy, offer your silence.” In the same post, she also shared tweets about mental health from Nina Parker, Kevin McHale, and Maren Morris."

All care and no responsibility.

BRITNEY IS A COUNTRY GIRL...ALL THAT SHIT IS NORMAL BEHAVIOR...LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!😭

reply

I'm not dissing her. I'm sure she means well, but I just don't think the public knows enough about her mental state to make a definitive opinion.

reply

I'LL TAKE CARE OF HER...FOR A VERY GOOD PRICE TOO.🙂

That's one way to get your epic media library built.

"How are your carpentry skills, Britney? Cause you're gonna be building some shelves for me..."

reply

her dad wants to keep the conservatorship cause thats how he makes his money, he literally gets paid to watch his daughters money and can pay himself whatever he wants.

without the conservatorship he has no job...

reply

If she gains control of her finances, I'm sure Kevin Federline wouldn't want her to be looking into what he's been siphoning off either.

reply

exactly, she is a lot of peoples cash cow, its sad though that a 40 yr old needs someone to control their money.

reply

How fortunate of those who have never gone through a personal issue.

Her business is out there so we are just trying to make sense of it.

Like........
Brittany can't make any decisions for herself but can work?
15 years later, her daddy still telling her what she can and can not do?
The woman's about to turn 40.

Shaving your head and attacking a car with an umbrella is the same as dying your hair some awful color and punching a wall, so lets all calm down on which is the best way to have a breakdown.

And isn't Vegas all about the weekend wedding?
You don't know if she perfectly set out to do something stupid.

J-Lo was in communications with Ben Affleck while with her fiancé A-Rod.
J-Lo and A-Rod broke up and the next week she is introducing her kids to Ben,
even though she'd been with A-Rod for like 4 years and all of their kids at lived together as a family.

But yeah, a Vegas wedding and annulment.........

In other words: she wasn't in her right mind.

Even if Vegas is about weekend weddings, that doesn't make it right. The fact that she got it annulled shortly after proves it was the wrong decision.

reply

I would hate to be judged and the rest of my life is decided on 25 (give or take an age) year old me.

(Mom and Dad.
I love you.
Sorry for being THAT asshole.)

reply

Your pity is wasted, her business is "out there" because her social media director is creating a controversy in hopes of pressuring doctors and the legal system. It's the evil patriarchy trying to keep an independent, strong woman down, or it's doctors and legal system doing their job at protecting her and her assets from her. She can afford an army of assistants that put her together and carefully craft her image, so we can't trust what we see. I have nothing to gain from either scenario, so I have no feelings about it, but it's everywhere, so I can't avoid it either.

reply

I can't understand why people care so much that she shaved her head. It's just hair. Totally nonessential.

Having her baby on her lap was not good but there are lots of inadequate parents out there and the solution was their children were removed from their care (which I presume did happen, as her ex-husband seems to be caring for the kids), not that control of their entire life was taken away from them. I am sure that her impairment must have been significant to be put under conservatorship, but the extent of the control of her seems huge based on the reports in the news, and yet she continued to work through most of her conservatorship? Uh, ok. Also, the people controlling her money and person also are paid handsomely from her wealth. Uh, ok.

OP is a well-known attention seeking troll.

Lots of people have mental breakdowns. They all go on with their lives.

You're the same person who told me that I was a Republican even after I have stated multiple times that I don't align with any side.

You actually make quite a few assumptions of other users:

It's not sudden, been building for awhile, but it's because she can easily afford a social media campaign in the hopes of pressuring doctors and the court system into giving her financial autonomy. She can also get the best attorneys on the planet, so she's in good hands.
