With which film did you become a Sam Rockwell fan?

I find it interesting to see the various points in a career where fans start liking actors.

For me it was Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.

OOH I was a super late comer to Sam Rockwelldom. I saw him in MOON in January of 2014 no less and it rocked my whole world...

But I've soon caught up. Seen most of his films by now!

The Green Mile

No specific movie. More like, a succession of films in a relatively short time.
I saw him in some films, and was more and more impressed with his acting, to the point where you specifically watch a movie because a certain actor stars in it.
Actually, that's what usually happens to me with actors: they start off as nameless faces, then I start thinking "hey, that guy is good", I become interested in his works, I learn his name, watch as many films with him as I can, become a fan.

As for which film gave me a massive Sam Rockwell crush - beyond his acting abilities - it was Charlie's Angels, and, more recently, Choke (especially its ending scene).

I'd have to say the Green Mile. Although I didn't realize that was him when I first saw it.

Staley, I saw that too, but it didnt make any impression on me at the time. THEN I saw Moon and everything changed!

So if TGM was was the first thing with SR you SAW him in, hey I"m curious too, what was the first thing you noticed him in and started following him??

reply

Yeah, pretty much. Although he was s sicko in TGM he was kind of funny. He was good in Moon and also Iron Man 2. I DVR'd the movie The Way, Way Back mainly because mainly because of him.

For me, when I saw Matchstick Men, I knew he was a real talent. Since then I have loved him. He is in my top 3 favorite actor list, right behind Nic Cage and Leo, and ahead of Edward Norton, Ruffalo and Michael Shannon. His best performance IMO is Snow Angels

I remember seeing him in the Green Mile and thinking he was cute but then feeling like there was something wrong with me for thinking that.

but I truly became a devoted fan after seeing MOON, years later.
