is it me or does ryan reynolds just play deadpool in every single movie he's in? nothing but witty sarcasm and references. i loved his performance in deadpool, but after seeing it 20 times now, i actually am a bit scared to go back and rewatch deadpool because i'm afraid it will annoy me
It's his niche. He's a good actor, he's had some decent dramatic roles, but this is his specialty. Like DeNiro was great in Awakenings, but he mostly plays mobsters and tough guys, or Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting and (also) Awakenings, but mostly played more or less goofy characters. You go where you're wanted and where the work is. Plus, he funds a lot of charities, so he goes with the most paying gigs.
Though, true, he is successful enough to diversify a little.

I also feel the same way about guys like the Rock, Mark Wahlberg, Jason Momoa and Liam Neeson. They've made too many movies and play the exact same character in all of them. RR may be the worst of them all tho, with the Rock coming in a close 2nd lol.
